China Contests Out of Africa Claims
...scientists recently have found other evidence for human evolution spanning thousands of years in China, although the finds have yet to be analyzed by experts outside of the country. If confirmed, the evidence might suggest that Homo sapiens evolved in more than one place in the world at around the same time, or that humans and other hominids left Africa earlier than thought...

During my elementary education, JAVA MAN was thing talked about by anthropologists. Later in college, the National Geographics Society said that Homo Sapien Sapien all came from a single source (one female in Ethiopia) whose genes spread all over the world. Chinese folks can claim whatever they want as far as I am concerned. They can come from Homo Mao-Sapien or whatever. |

My hunch is that once scientists outside of China look at the evidence, they'll come to a different conclusion. Specifically, I think if this is "proof" of anything at all it will be proof of an earlier dispersion of our species from what we now call Africa. |
