Will Smith Speaks Out-Gets Put on GOP Blacklist -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- courtesy of www.eurweb.com The most pleasantly-positive, G-rated rapper in the game is literally on the s***list of a right-wing organization calling themselves Patriotic Americans Boycotting Anti-American Hollywood, reports the New York Daily News. During an interview with a German newspaper, Smith was asked if the Sept. 11 attacks had changed him. His response: "No, absolutely not. …Whether you are wounded in an attack by a racist cop or in a terrorist attack, I'm sorry, it makes no difference. In the 60s, blacks were continuously the victims of terrorist attacks. It was civil terrorism, but terrorism nonetheless." Those words have landed the 36-year-old on the right wing group’s Anti-American list of “banned” stars, along with Robert Redford and Renee Zellweger, among others. "I've always been a huge fan. But now I'm not going to put a dime in Will Smith's pockets." Patriotic Americans founder Jon Alvarez told the Daily News.

Its about time some power people spoke their minds on this issue. Who would of ever thought it would be will smith. Good for Him. Symbolic to Paul Robeson, if they try to Paul Robeson Will Smith though watch the masses form "voltron" on these right wing radicals. Any time we as Afro-Americans make references to what Whites did to our people in the 60's its going to be met with that " Oh thats totally different " attitude, but who wants to be reminding of the negative when ur faking so hard to be positive.Huh! Bravo for Will! |

I find it interesting that Will chose to come-correct with a foreign paper on the 911 hoopla. Why? Is it because NO America-based media will provoke him to step-out? Or is he too scared to say to Americans what he will to foreigners? |

"During an interview with a German newspaper, Smith was asked if the Sept. 11 attacks had changed him." I think this paragraph may explain why he chose to say what he said when he said it. Like some other celebrities, both Black and White, Will Smith seems to be the type that doesn't have a problem speaking his piece. I think he just keeps the peace until his piece is asked for. After all it was an interview. I suppose if an American journalist had asked him the same question, he would have answered likewise. Then again, maybe you are right, Abm. Maybe he scurred. I tend to give my brothers the benefit of the doubt more often then I probably should. Who knows?
