Greetings, my fellow beautiful people. I have missed so many of you. How have you been?

(a freestyle)

"Never Expressed Love Quite Like This/Love's Nature Walk" Watastar

I've loved
I have loved
Oh I HAVE loved
Loving ain't nothin' new
Gon' love for the rest of my life
Been lovin' all my life any ol' way
Expressin' it all my life, too
But not this
And not on this level
If I could ever truly say that I believed in at least one mate to every soul,
It is only because I have looked deep into your soul only to stare at my own
I love you
No
I really, really love you
I'm talkin' bout
Love you while you flowin', wearing the crown that fits you so well
I love you while you all of balance, but still fighting your way through this Hell
Love you when you so fresh and so clean
Love you when you on the toilet droppin' them hot, wet terds, too.
LOL
The point is
My love does not change
It has never changed
You were my friend
Long before you were half of my life
I love you
I have never expressed love quite like this
Our expression of love is like... it's like a walk on a beautiful nature trail
Some people are just not honest about the walk on a beautiful nature trail
Yes, it's nice, it is beautiful...
but they don't never mention all 'da mosquitoes they done had to slap off
You might even see a mouse or two
And goodness knows I know they have their place in this world,
But goodness also knows that I could go my whole life without seeing one
and not at all regret it
But yes, the nature trail is so beautiful.. the walk is so nice
Yet walking and walking can make the legs tired or even the spirit
I cannot say that I have not at times been drained
But that was mostly when my focus was against my Spirit's instructions
I love your soul
And I know you love mine
I am by your side
on this nature trail
In the blazing sun
In the pouring rain
Might even have to stop when it rains too hard
Go sit down somewhere, dry off and go at it again when things are dry
Not like it has not happened before
But you know what
This walk has made our legs so strong
It has strengthened our hearts and has nurtured our souls
I long to walk with you for the rest of my life
and even when my life is over
In retrospect...no...I have never
ever
ever
expressed love
quite
like
this

P.S. If you are out there, Cynique, guess wut? ISE MARRIED NOW!

Congratulations on your marriage, watastar! Great poem. You haven't lost a step. As for ABM and Lambd, they quit the board... I also found your African/African-America essay interesting. Nowadays, so many young black folks are soul searching, looking for solutions to the monumental problem facing their race, and I give you all an "E" for effort.

Oh that's so precious, Cynique. Nah, it's actually on the 17th of this month, though.(lol I put it after the "P.S.") I'd love to say that I wrote that interesting essay, but a Nigerian born/NY based bro from Nigeria actually wrote it (wut oh, I hope I ain't accidentally put "By The Marvelous Watastar".LOLOL)

Rondall, thank you so very much. I tend to believe that your wife is RIGHT! MAnd my sweety pie happens to be a highly skilled wordsmith.
:-)
