This past weekend (actually Sunday and Monday) spent some time in the company of some fine poets, ,Rashida Ismaili Abubakr, Malaika Adero, Ruth-Miriam Garnett, Gary Johnston, Sylvie Kande, Tanure Ojaide, Peggy Tartt and Mervyn Taylor--Sunday at a barbecue held in their honor and Monday night at a reading they gave at Duff's Restaurant in St. Louis. These are all fine poets and I would recommend getting and reading their work. | ||
