Can't count
the words I know,
tho' I have learned
to count on them.
They sing to me
in sweet melisma,
convulse contort
lips tongue cheeks
distort,
as I sing off key.
The music buffers
my malapropism,
which is not so
heir apparent
in this cantata.
But who has
learned to sing,
by being...silent?
