Peace to the All, the name is Kazi - I'm new to the forum(of course) and wanted to give a formal intro to the All. I'm gonna leave a peice of mind for yall to observe(no title or nothing, just lyrically speaking you feel me?), keep open minds and let me know what ya thinks.

P.E.A.C.E
It takes 1 to know 1...

Born an innocent spirit,
who came to the world so gifted,
wanted to love every minute
But with this love came hate
Sometimes on the low or with a constantly vivid Live and in living color tone
A clear picture
I move through these streets as a soul
meant to travel an grow
In these days of dark times - come build mind -
As a young Eloheem I fought battles wit self esteem
But see I was premature on the scene
I was so ahead of my time?
I hid my potential - concealed my fundamental practice of Ancient African
Religion
Just to dwell in the system
Lost touch with the rhythmic ways of my tradition
In a downward spiral to lower levels of existence
walkin the line b'tween lite and dark
Ambitions as a rider - spinnin the yin an yang of my heart
With fewer options - sinnin' was winnin the tug of war,
I could feel my whole soul get enveloped into the block
Smokin jacks and settin' traps b'came a bittersweet work of art
As I struggled iron to iron
with similar counterparts
Passin off hand to hand - finesse moves in public parks
Gettin' bent till' I crash'd whips rented wit stolen cards
Livin' check to check and chick to chick?,
My life became a roll of the dice with many risk's involved
On unstable ground I stood
Weary to the traps set to enslave my soul
I took control -
Confined myself in isolation -
In attempts to heal myself
and In turn heal the nation
See, If I don't save myself who will save my seeds?
Who are growing up in the ghetto just like me -
They mom is like I was - off the hook -
Running wild like a child - and at 26 ! ? -
thats not a good look -
I realized we are all born wise
And it's our choice to walk around with closed eyes,
and when shit jump off we look surprised -
It's our choice to forget who we are -
Forget where we come from -
So It's not a coincidence that when we stop
Our rims keep movin' -
Like sands on the hour glass -
So are the days of our lives

Kazi,

Your flow comes across as something of your own. I would probably have to hear you read this one. The writing style does not translate as something rhythmatic, nor does it hit me with a lot of continuity.

But the mic is yours... so feel free to bring that beat back.

Peace, Rondall

A yo kid u throw a hook on that.. u gotta hit, keep doin what u doin, thats "soul food" u got right there, it aint for everybody, its only for certain taste buds u feel me? you will see real quick when it comes to new artists around these parts people are real judgemental especially if you come with something a little different than alot of these so-called poet clones sounded the same trying to be so deep with words that they lose themselves in their own flow. keep doin what u doin, and yo get at me, cuba va! one!
