You See in Me

Where are you
The me, I imagine
When I close my eyes
And pretend everything has
Never happened and what I want
Is all there is for me to think to me.

Let us wish that I were a man
If you can.
And at least something as plain as that
Be

Or why would you feign feeling
For the benefit of peace
And then embrace sweet frailty
That be made as manifest as
The dew of morning upon flowers
Glistening for you clearly to see.

Can you know the truth
Does it matter to you
That in earnest I embrace inadequacy.

Or maybe I am but a simpleton
That at least in part
Is the truth
And it is you who are intent
To be the doom of me.

Sisg,

Thanks for recognizing my poetic efforts, paltry though they be. :-)

I wish I were a poet. But I am too much a left-brained control-freak to allow the poetic muse to seduce me.

I am astounded by Kola. Her poetry is so transcendent that it is as if she makes entire alternate worlds from out of the ether. Frankly, I am embarass to even remotely consider that what we do are the same.

But I have become besotted with a string of personal troubles that have caused me to seek some form of mental distraction.

And what I have done here recently is a (futile) attempt at achieving such.
