Yesterday I had one of those evenings that I pray for--I attended a party for Holiday Simmons who had just got her MSW from Washington University (and is getting up outta this raggedy Mofo and heading to Toronto, Canada) Holiday is also a poet--visit her site http://www.lunawomyn.com There was good food, good drink and plenty of good talk about literature and yours truly even did a piece for the people and plenty of fine writers and poets there such as Debra Morrow Loving, Floyd Boykin and MsNterpretation and it was all in Da Hood (take that Bill Cosby, you dumb jerk!) at her mother's beautiful home in the 3900 on Page Avenue. |
