I live in SoCal and I have seen every kind of interracial relationship known to man. BM/WW, BW/WM, WM/AW, AM/WW, AM/BM. I see just as many interracial relationships involving black women as I do with black men out here. Why is it so ineven in other parts of the country? Why are there more significantly higher rates of black men with white women as the other way around in other parts of the country? Is it because Caly is more liberal? Just Curious!! |

do you ever see asian men/ black women couples? they are the least married in america. how far are you from Camp Pendleton... i know those marine and navy guys will holler at a chick from anywhere. i think miami has alot of that too ...by the way did u see that post i made for you homes? |

Yeah I did. When I lived in Miami I saw alot of WM/BM realtionships. However, I was asking the question because I have heard that in other parts of the country BM/WW was very common but not the other way around. Why is that? |

Most black women do not want to date out of their race--most black men do.
This is changing, however, with Black females under the age of 27. The recent movie "Guess Who?" and "younger" black women's excitement over the movie show how attitudes among young black women are changing to embrace the idea of optional mating.
As well, studies show that White males under 27 are becoming more familiar with "black females" and feel no stigma in openly pursuing them for long term relationships, although White males showed a greater concern than Black females over the secondary racial characteristics of children resulting from interracial unions. Still, 65% of White males under the age of 30 expressed a desire to date Black females.
61% of Biracial daughters by "Black father/White mother" end up marrying....White male.
88% of Biracial sons by "Black father/White mother" end up marrying....White female.
84% of Biracial daughters by "White father/Black mother" end up marrying...Black male.
58% of Biracial sons by "White father/Black mother" end up marrying...Black female.

Of "Kenyan women" who marry non-Kenyan men in the United States, 84% are married to Black American men!
Now I have never seen a Kenyan woman with a Brotha! LOL

Ethiopian women are among the Africans least likely to marry out of their nationality. When they do marry out, they marry White European men by 78%. The rest marry Africans who aren't Ethiopian.
Less than ONE HALF of 1% of Ethiopian-American women are married to Non-Ethiopian men.

lol serenasailor ... there's not many bw/wm couples in michigan, but a whole bunch of bm/ww. there are alot of wm/aw in michigan too. i've only been to san diego and around riverside area in cali, i didn't really pay attention to who was with who ...but there sure where alot of latinas around there, damn near more than in san antonio. |

My Uncle's wife's brother and my son's boss are each married to women from Kenya. Therefore, that statistic is not surprising to me. Kenyan women like to marry African American men, because a lot of AA men work in that country.

This is NOT good for black men....
Although white men are quick to have casual relationships with black women, they usually are not willing take such relationships and such females seriously, unless the female agrees to sever ALLLL ties with black men....
White men still view black men as a threat, so only when a black woman decides to stop communicating with and SUPPORTING black men, is she accepted by white men as a serious mate.
Here's the thing. Once a black woman decides to do that, she is COMPLETELY accepted and sought-after by white men.

I know for a fact that interracial couples "network" regarding locations within the U.S. where they can peacefully live (and possibly raise a family) without too much drama from outsiders. So, what you see in SCali is proably a result of such networking.

PBG, in places like Washington, D.C. Detroit and California where you have high populations of Kenyans, you will find they marry their daughters off to African American men. Usually business men. Morehouse College has a lot of graduates whose wives are Kenyan.

LOL@abm. The fact is the majority of Morehouse men do marry Spelman women or African American women. Only 10 out of a 100 I would say marry African women. Women from Kenya are black and I am darkskinned so I never saw it as an affront. I graduated from Spelman.

I'm not sure how it is Abm. Kenyan families immigrate to the U.S. and their fathers prefer their daughters to marry African American men. You have Ethiopians who are the exact opposite and you have West Africans who want their children to marry White if not their own nationality. I know that the Kenyan women are very slim and graceful, I suppose most of us would think of them as very pretty women and they are very softspoken and submissive. That is a trait they are known for, submissiveness. British men, white ones, marry Kenyan women more than any other African. In the Meryl Streep film "Out of Africa", do you remember the British men talking about what "heavenly" wives Kenyan women make? I believe Ghanian women are second choice. Ethiopians are the most desired but very rarely marry out of their nationality. Cornel West married an Ethiopian.

A lot of Kenyan families live near Morehouse College. A lot of the Professors are Kenyans. They are one of the groups that likes African Americans a lot.

Don't nobody want Seal. And if he didn't have any money, Heidi wouldn't have given him the time of day. As far as Heidi's looks, she looks good now (which is why she is a fashion model) but it won't last and it won't be pleasant waking up next to her when she gets up in age. I suspect I could hardly tolerate, much less prefer, some all-obliging woman. I've seldom witnessed that. And when I did, usually both the man and the woman was the worser for such.
But there is a prevailing sentiment amongst MANY Black men - and NOT just the neanderthal types - that many sistahs have heads harder than reinforced titanium. Many brothahs think they can't get much done with A LOT of yawl because you have so much going on we can hardly hear ourselves think.

It's true that I resent SOME black men--but I don't loathe "black men".
In my autobiography, I actually name all the black men that I hate.
But I spend a much longer time throughout the book talking about those black men that I love, admire and have been healed or nurtured by.
Honestly, the things that I'm complaining about "socially" are nothing new in this country--it's a pathology that has been growing and erasing, little by little, since slavery ended.
You know that.
So at some point--someone has to attempt to throw a cog in the wheel.
Cynique could be right--my whole life and work may be in vain, and one day black people won't exist here, but as I see so much of the majority (and especially Black men) doing nothing to confront the situation--I just find myself less and less willing to apologize or be trivialized by anyone's criticism of my feelings and actions.
Perhaps my bitterness is that I have to do it by myself, not only with no help from black men--but also with their mundane announcements such as --"You hate black men".
If anyone hates anyone, it's black men who have PROFESSED PUBLICLY their hate for us (black women) on a daily basis....just pick up any magazine, listen to any music lyric, watch any film or music video.
At the beginning, I said that your words hurt me.
And that's because I do love, respect and admire you so much, Mr. Stepney.
It hurts me bad to think that you believe that about me.

Whether Heidi considers her looks "angelic" or not, is completely irrelevant. I'm sharing my opinion regarding her looks--I'm not asking you, Heidi or anyone else to agree with what I'm saying. By making such a comment I'm by no means "idolizing" her either. You are jumping to consluions and making nothing into something. If you don't think she's "angelic" in appearance, you don't think she is "angelic" in appearance. Beauty is different things to different people. Nothing more, nothing less.

If this is what you in fact meant, fair enough. I stand corrected. However, your original post, taken in context, seemed to hint that Klum should somehow be considered much more attractive than "average" Seal. In fact, you called Seal "lucky" to have snagged an extremely promiscuous, already pregnant woman who is herself average in looks. That's what had me puzzled. But different strokes and all that good stuff. |

Again, beauty is different things to different people. I happen to think Heidi is a very attractive woman. And generally, I feel confident that most men consider her very attractive, too. I just don't think Seal is as handsome as she is beautiful. I don't think they are a couple that compliments one another in regards to attractiveness. And I think it's human nature for people to look at couples and compare them. And it's often a common thought/feeling that if one is more attractive than the other, people consider the less attractive of the pair, "lucky". This is how I feel about Heidi and Seal. Again, though, this is my opinion--and everyone has one. Now, if she were with someone like Blair Underwood, Brad Pitt, Denzel, or Morris Chesnut, I wouldn't consider them lucky--they'd compliment one another. I'm specifically speaking about looks--nothing else.
In regards to her being promiscuous, I don't know anything about that--as I don't know her personally. And I don't feel confident saying she is "promiscous" just because she met him and hooked up with him when she was pregnant with her first child. There are tons of women who end up in relationships with men who aren't the father of their child/children and they go on to marry them and have some biological children of their own. But if you feel she's a "hoe", then I guess according to your standards/guidelines, America (and the world over) is chock full of extremely promiscuous hoes.

Um, Moonsigns, I "feel" like she's a hoe because she is a hoe. So is her husband. They are both hoes who found each other and decided to make a decent lives for themselves with children. Klum is not, lookswise, anything to write home about. Anyone who's mind is not clogged with the white superiority poison can see that. Why should anyone of Klum's level of attractiveness even imagine herself on the physical level of a Morris Chestnut? Laughable. She sure doesn't, which is why she is with (relatively handsome) Seal. Perhaps her whiteness bumps her up a few levels on the attractiveness scale to some people, surely not you!, hmmm... |
