I live in Pasadena, Ca. The other day a drunk white man came to my house looking for my sister. He was our neigbhor. I was upset because not only did this white man come over to my house, but he was DRUNK! He was requesting to speak to my sisters. I was livid! My mother and father have been separated for 4 years now. My father now lives in Atlanta. I know that if my father would have been there, he would have made "White Boy Stew".
When I told my mother and my sister about this they were upset with me. They said I had no right to be rude to him. And they said that he was just being a good neighbor. I told them that they were crazy for letting a drunk man come over to there house with them alone. I mean he could have raped, and murdered them. And the law would not have done anything to protect them, because he was a white man. Was I wrong? Were they Right? How do you feel? |

I think that's good for you to look after your mom and sisters. You had a point, although, I don't know the true situation. Maybe you overreacted?

it's a good thing your father wasn't there then, because he would've been in "White Boy jail" ... but your right, unless it was absolutely necessary there's no need for anyone drunk to enter to your mothers home. |

I'm with you, sailor. Your mother and sister are lucky to have a male family member who cares enough about them to make sure no one bothers them. There are too many black women who don't have that.
Now, if he was INVITED over, I would side with your mother. But if he was UNINVITED and besides that drunk, I would think less of you if you DIDN'T make a big deal out of it. |

I don't know whether to laugh or being concerned about some drunken White dude strolling over to your crib.
And I shudder at the thought of WHY dude would get drunk...THEN...come looking for your sister.

The funny thing is that I know how my mother and sisters are. They would have had a heart attack if he were Black. That is probably what angers me the most. |
