This was sent to me, I don't know if it's true or not, but I found it interesting:
Subject: Jamie Foxx - Music Special Controversy on NBC
Please take the time to forward the below message to everyone in your address
book. NBC is not doing any marketing and publicity on Jamie's Music Special on
NBC because he stood his ground and wouldn't have any white guests as they
requested. To make it even worse he had two controversial guest stars that do
not fit the "NBC profile" on his show. Tune in to find out who they are. They
are purposely putting his show up against the second week of American Idol in
hopes that it will fail. This will give them the excuse to never give another
black person a music special because "it doesn't work." Let's show them that it
does work, and that we support each other. Tivo Idol and watch Jamie. I saw
the taping, it is a good show.
Jamie Foxx making history on NBC . This is the first time NBC has ever aired an
entire young urban African American cast on a music special. We need to show
support. This was not an easy sell for Jamie and he stood his ground to make it
happen the way he saw fit.

This is mean (GOD forgive me). I watched him on Oprah recently and noted how he said he is enjoying being single. Of course, his body language implied he was getting his freak on. All I thought to myself was, "Must be the money"--because that cat looks slightly retarded--and he acts like he is so damn fine. He's yuck--and his music is rather awful. |

I have to agree with Cynique. She looks just like a typical, light complexioned black girl. There is nothing Spanish or even bi-racial about her features and she definitely looks black in comparison to Alicia or Quincy's daughters. |

I saw him with a "Spanish" girl, older like 18, and the magazine said it was his daughter.

Still, it's sad she doesn't look anything like Jamie Fox. I just did a google search for pics of him and his daughter. I would never have a child that didn't look like me. On that issue I can relate to what people like Tonya are saying about him. Why do white men and other men want their kids to resemble them, but dark black men don't? That's tragic.
I am light, but I still find myself staring when I see these very dark people walk up with extremely light children. It makes me think something negative. Kola didn't put that in my head. I always had those thoughts, it's just that Kola Boof brings out what people are thinking anyways.

Intellectually, Cynique, I do understand that I'm only lightskinned because of America being a racist society that hates black people. I do acknowledge that it's not necessarily normal that I or my parents would be so "fairskinned". So, yes, I feel inadequate as a black woman. I feel robbed.
Thanks to my "high yella" mom, we do consider ourselves "black" and identify with Africans, so my brother and two sisters and I are conscious that we would like to have "darker" children, but still of a color that favors us. So I would basically marry brothers the type of which Halle Berry has chosen. More "Gold Brown" than dark brown.
My brother has children by a very dark brown sister in Colorado though and his children came out light tea complexioned, which is perfect. They look just like him, but not buttery like us.

You're wrong Babygirl.
The majority of black people have offspring within the range of their own color. It could be somewhat lighter or darker, but almost never is it to the EXTREME that you're trying to claim.
There's a 95% chance that if I marry a guy who looks like Eric Benet or David Justice, then I would have a gold-brownish colored kid that looks just like me and my husband. Not almost white and not the color of Jamie Foxx.
You guys exaggerate the whole genetic thing.
If I had a baby with Jamie Foxx, it would not come out as light as his daughter. It would be a brown girl and more likely resemble us, because we're both possessing African features.

My son's FACE and chest is almost the same color as mine, but the rest of his body is darker. |

Thanks, I miss having a LITTLE baby, but I'm not even thinking of having another one until this one is at least 4 or 5. By then, I may have changed my mind.
I used to wonder why women had so many children, now I know why. You really miss the tiny ones. But I'm not even considering having more than 2 (3 if I get a set of twins). |

Amazon.Com has about 250 copies in their warehouse that have been sitting there for 12 days.
We have no idea why they aren't shipping the books out.
They also have the book listed as "Not Yet Released".
But it was shipped last week and was officially released today.
Please complain through email and calling Amazon---demanding your books.
Another person who complained right away received her book the next day.

ONLY AMAZON.COM is not shipping their orders--which is where most people buy it.

I started raising hell with Amazon around christmas and they sent my book last week.
My mom ordered it from Walmart.Com and she got hers the day before I got mine.
This book is like a BIBLE, girl!! LOL. You put your foot in this one. It's a classic. Nothing less.

Tonya, I just checked and there's no email. How bizzare.
I wanted you to send me the Telephone Number to AMAZON so that I could call personally and get in their asses.
Prettybaby--they just got the books in stock 12 days ago, so that sounds about right. I'm glad you complained.
Each distributor---Amazon, Barnes/Noble, Walmart---were sent about 250 copies each. That was 12 days ago.
If you check "Baker and Taylor" FEED, they have 96 copies reported ON ORDER to Amazon, but we've received 212 orders since last March from Amazon.Com, so this is VERY BIZZARE.
If people demand their books, then Amazon will get its act together and quick.
I'm glad this is happening at the very beginning when the orders are so low.
They did this with "Flesh and the Devil" two years ago, but they waited until HUGE NUMBERS were ordered and then they screwed up and left the boxes in the warehouse un-shipped for 3 weeks.
Which the FANS then will blame on the author.
