A new romantic story is to become serious in Hollywood. There are rumors about Halle Berry dating Versace model Gabriel Aubry. They have been spotted going out and being extremely close and cozy to each other.

Halle, an Oscar-winning beautiful actress, was seen hitting at the 30-year-old model at a cast dinner for the movie “Perfect Strangers”. "Halle and Gabriel smooched and touched each other during the entire meal," revealed a participant to the dinner. Even more, the two were seen going upstairs into Berry's suite after finishing dinner.

Oscar-winner Halle Berry has revealed she is more desperate than ever to have a baby as she approaches her 40th birthday later this year.

The Hollywood star joked that she was so keen to have children when she hits the milestone in August that she would do so even if she was not in a long-term relationship.

Berry told Oprah Winfrey: "If there's no serious man (in my life), whoever I'm dating at the time, I'll say, 'Hey, would you like to have a baby?'."

Halle Berry was also involved with Versace, the actress becoming the new face of the company at the end of 2005 and worked with celebrity photographer Mario Testino, who was most appreciated by the late Princess Diana.

As for the Catwoman star being linked with 30-year-old Versace model Gabriel Aubry, the New York Daily News also reported this is a true situation.

Fuck Halle Berry and Gabriel Aubry. I guess she is going to go off and have her some Octoroon kids. Funny how Halle Berry puts emphasis on "being black" when she goes and does shyt like this. Like Kola said even our leaders are phonies who hate there race.

Willing to have a baby with just whomever happens to be in her life at the time?

I'm more convinced than ever before that this woman has self esteem issues.

Did she ever date AUTHENTIC/nonmixed black men, AFTER she became well-known, you know, when she was finished using such men???

Correct me if I'm wrong. Did she?

That's more than a rumor.

Halle lost her hearing in one ear because of Wesley punching her in the head. That's according to Halle.

As for Kola. You know how I love the ground Kola walks on. But I just started reading her autobiography, and boy did she have her fun with Non-black men back in the day!

Granted, I'm in the part where she's very young and hasn't renamed herself "Kola" yet.

But I'm serious. Kola was a HO. LOL

If he did that to her, I wonder if she at least tried to have him prosecuted?

Anyways, I wouldn't overanalyze her choice in mates. It's just my opinion, but she seems to have self-esteem issues.

Also, as a bi-racial person, her dating in either direction would basically be dating her "own", so the race of whomever she dates isn't a big issue.

To me, it is. Is says a lot (to me), the fact that she dated Black only when she needed help with her career. And when that took off, she decided to date white/biracial exclusively. It shows her character and it says more about just how Black she really *think* she is - i.e. what she claims to be (cuz she isn't Black at all, to me) - than do her words.

I firmly believe that Halle has the right to be with any man of her choice. In general, and for many reasons, I don't believe that the average woman should willingly choose single-parenthood. However, Halle is in an extrodinary position and I think she (and her child) would be just fine. Looks aren't everything, but that baby would surely be beautiful-and I think she is absolutely aware of that and is making the most of the oppotunity.

She does seem to have some issues with men--but so do a lot of other women.

Well, she's had a terrible time with black guys herself. Her first husband beat her, her second husband cheated on her. Her second husband was actually darker skinned than Spike Lee, so I don't know what that says (other than he wasn't as famous).

I wouldn't read her choice of mates by color too much, she seems to date and marry both. However, otherwise, she seems to date psychos, cheats, and assholes, so I guess it will only be a matter of time until her new beau either beats her up or cheats on her. Both her husbands were pretty boy types, like her new beau. IMO, it seems her only requirements are that they're crazy and unfaithful, more than she cares about their color.

I hate to say it, but maybe she needs to grab an ugly dude and try him out. At least to see if she'll get better treatment. Looks don't mean much if your husband is either punching your face in or spending all his time with other women.

Halle Berry is beautiful woman.

She's an improving actress.

And she seems like a decent person.

So, as a man, I'd probably enjoy occassionally spending time with her...

...dating her...

...and, of course, knocking boots with her.

But there's hardly a icicle's chance in Hades that I'd marry Halle Berry. 'Cause, I maybe crazy, but, shyt, I ain't CRAAAZZZYYYY.

It's automatically assumed that Halle's mates are the ones at fault in her relationships, but if you listen to their sides of the stories, especially what her first husband David, had to say in his defense, you will find that Halle isn't the easiest person in the world to get along with. She, herself, admits that she has issues relating to her father being an abusive husband who deserted his family. Halle doesn't seem to have color issues because, according to her, her mother told her early on, that in the eyes of society she would be considered "black", and curly-haired, button-nose Halle seems very comfortable with this idea.

Yeah, she's got at least one fault: she keeps picking abusive men. No woman can MAKE a man abusive if he isn't already so, I don't care how "not easy" she is to get along with. Men say that crap to excuse themselves for their own behavior.

Her very Rugged second husband, or as you put it, "pretty" boy, wouldn't fall within my definition of authentic blackness, not by a long shot. And since I'm one of the very few authentic black posters, my definition of authenticity is the only one that counts. I tell you who's me. I tell you who's not. It's not the other way around. No offense.

What's more, her not dating an authentic guy, or as SOME might put it - maybe, not you but some - "an ugly dude", is not at all what I'm complaining about. I don't have a problem with the mating choices SHE makes. She's not my blood.. not my concern. My issue is about people like her, feeling free to take advantage of something I hold sacred, for which, I feel deeply insulted. Can I make it any clearer than that?

I don't feel that she "used and left" Wesley Snipes. He was beating the crap out of her. Of course she left him. I would really think she was nuts if she stayed with him.

She doesn't know how to pick guys, but at least she's got good enough sense to know to leave them.

Well, if Eric Benet isn't black enough to be considered a black man (especially by a half-white woman), it's hardly likely that anyone she dates will be "black", even if they're non-biracial and their parents are both black.

oh, no. I wasn't at all saying that. I was just saying as far as the guys she's picked so far. And judging exclusively by them, it's my opinion that their color or race doesn't matter.

If she'd met another very dark skinned guy who was willing to beat the crap out of her or cheat on her with whatever's available, she would probably have married him by now. It just so happens that the ones she did meet weren't dark skinned.

For some reason, women (myself included) have a weird knack for going through different relationships, but somehow attracting the same person. I don't get that.

My mother doesn't date anyone, but she only attracts MARRIED men. Single men aren't interested. I only seem to attract workaholics who think I'm their little girl or something. I've never attracted guys who were interested in attending concerts or going to the museum. A cousin of mine only attracts men with 10+ kids who only need her for free housing.

I don't get that.

So, Halle probably have MET other dark skinned guys. But either their sanity or her insanity kept them from getting together.

Just my opinion.

The sane ones aren't interested in her. Or she isn't interested in them.

See that's PRECISELY what I mean, Reneta.... When it's covienent she's "a half-white woman." But tell me this: was she a "half-white woman" when she played in LOSING ISAIAH? Because, if so, a full black woman should have gotten that part. Was she a "half-white woman" while piling up accolades for being the the first black women in years to win this, and the first black woman of our time to do that? Because if so, a full black woman, yet again, has been robbed. Now, here, I would tell you, you gotta make up your mind. But that's not neccessary, ya see, because, unbeknownst to you, us full black women have already made up ours.

She actually considers HERSELF a black woman (I think of her as half white). But that only proves my point. She thinks SHE's black, of course she would think he is.

But IMO, that still has nothing to do with her choosing him. He has some serious issues that isn't conducive to his being in a stable relationship. Somehow, she attaches to guys like that. As far as I know, (correct me if I'm wrong) this Aubry dude is the first white guy she's been serious with since she's been famous. I will SO BE SURPRISED if nothing's wrong with him.

My opinion is Halle would be much better off if you got her some handsome, rich, accomplished OLDER BLACK man who still got more than enuff lead left in his pencil. That way, she'd have a better chance of getting both the man and DADDY she so clearly wants and needs.

But, really, it is HER life.

So let's just hope Halle find happiness with whomever she chooses to date and marry, dayam the amount of pigment in his skin.

I mean, I hope that Aubry guy isn't schizoid. But if she's complaining about him in another year... as Judge Judy would say, "You picked him."

Halle had an older black sugar daddy earlier in her career. He was a dentist I believe and lived in Chciago and once she got famous, he tried to sue her for the money she took him for. Also, I don't think the ol girl will be rushing into the bath room slitting her wrist because a cabal of people calling themselves "authentic" blacks don't accept her. What's is relevant is that SHE claims her blackness.

O.k., I gotchu....

You're saying that AFTER she became famous she couldn't find and/or attract an authentic black man with "some serious issues" to attach herself to (???).

Look, man, I could care less about this woman's dating habits. I'm not a fan of hollywood or anyone for that matter. But when things get political, all is different. Actions speak louder than words. And since she's an icon whose words are extremely political, her actions have every right to be challanged, especially since they along with her words involve so many people.

Prove me wrong, but as far as what we've witnessed, I hardly think she's had ANY guy, "authentic" black or not, before OR after she became famous, who didn't have some issues.

I'm not going to prove you wrong because that's not my point.

You said:

But IMO, that {color?} still has nothing to do with her choosing him. He has some serious issues that isn't conducive to his being in a stable relationship. Somehow, she attaches to guys like that.

And I responded:

O.k., I gotchu....

You're saying that AFTER she became famous she couldn't find and/or attract an authentic black man with "some serious issues" to attach herself to (???).

Now maybe I misinterpreted you or you're not understanding me correctly but that's the way I took your comment. If I'm wrong, my bad.... Or, better yet. HA-HA!! Prove.. me.. wrong!!!

Also:

"She actually considers HERSELF a black woman (I think of her as half white). But that only proves my point. She thinks SHE's black, of course she would think he is."

**********

I find it naive of you to think that Halle doesn't know the difference between folks like her and authentic blackness.

These privileged people have been benefiting all of their lives from their NONblackness. They know the difference. Though I hope they're not foolish and/or pompous enough to think that neither you nor I know that they know.... Why, that would be tragic.

Societal rules are that bi-racial people are BLACK. She knows she's bi-racial, but goes along with society to say that she's black. This entire thread was started because, even after dating black men, she's now dating a white man, and people are wondering why doesn't she ONLY date black men.

So, she's black enough to need to date black men, the darker the better even seems to be implied. But she's not white enough to date white men.

So, if she's black enough to have to only date BLACK men, but TOO BLACK for white men, I can see how she would consider herself black.

Just this afternoon, one of the radio stations in my area announced that Halle's "man" was seen driving around Miami with a bunch of other women--all who were touching his body. He was reported to have said (paraphrasing) that he wants to be famous and if he has to use Halle to do so, he will. Apparently, she was on the set of her newest film and was completely unglued. Who knows if it is true. Nevertheless, an interesting, but not unexpected, turn of events in this situation.

I think Abm is right--she needs to find a handsome, rich, accomplished, older, black man. However, I think he just needs to be her man and support her in finding the help she needs in order to make peace with her past.

Put a positive spin on it, at least. Other women in and outside of Hollywood now know to avoid the bozos she seems to get involved with. Whether they will or not is their own issue to deal with.

I just hope she stops repeating this destructiveness. For her own good.

How arrogant of you MISS WHITE MOONSIGNS to dictate...."get over it".....like we have to just go on accepting whatever you and white people LIKE YOU dole out about who we are.

I'm a so called "lightskinned" chick myself and I don't see Halle as "all black", nor do I honestly see myself as just black. I can understand why people who are "just black" want to have their own identities acknowledged, which is what I found so fascinating about Kola's rhetoric.

In other words, white people LIKE YOU have always been wrong about our race and its color, otherwise anyone could also be seen as "white". Notice the hypocracy in anybody can be black, but only the pure can be white.

I resent your attitude towards us and I don't accept your comments. I think you're in store for some surprises as immigrants are making American blacks question the rules that were set by slave masters and their white wives, like you.

That's an interesting point, PBG. It's this "one drop" thing that dictates Halle should ONLY date black men, and why such a big deal is being made that a half black/half white girl CAN date blacks, but shouldn't date whites.

Halle can do whatever she wants but I think Halle (and many of us) needs to learn to be alone for a while. We place too much emphasis on being in a relationship, as if it validates our value or self-worth. There's nothing wrong with being alone. Halle seems to be too dependent, constantly trying to be in a relationship - even a bad one - like she's seeking approval or something. In her quest, she sets herself up for failure time and time again by going from one affair to the next. The argument here about whether she is Black, thinks she's Black, half-Black, half-white or whatever - well, it's not her fault she's mixed and just like she can't decide upon which man she'll be with next, she probably can't make up her mind about what race she wants to be.

Preach on Sista!!! Halle Berry is a "Basketcase" and when you are a "Basketcase" you will only attract those type of men. I actually like Halle Berry unlike Mariah" black when it is convenient" Carey. But, I do not see the Halle Berry, Mariah Carey, Alicia Keyes types as the standard for black ppl. I think we as black ppl need to see these ppl are the exception not the rule.

Tonya:

That's were you and I part. Those are not "Societal rules" those WERE the white man's rules, which were inforced through punishment. And though these "rules" traveled throughout time, there's nothing normal about the way they were passed down. They were a result of hate.. and they were THRASED upon uneducated, insecure Slaves, who in turn passed them down to browbeaten Negroes; the Negroes then instilled them in self-hating Blacks who presented them as salvation to ignorant ass African-Americans. So "societal norms" is not the correct term neither. It's a sickness. SOCIETAL SICKNESS is your best bet. But don't fret. Not all of us are victims of colonized minds.. at least not to the same degree. They'll be deliverance after all.

My point? Halle ain't Black.

Now if she and everyone else (particularly people who thinks she should stay with "her kind" and date blacks exclusively) would see it that way....

Her race isn't her problem. My opinion.

Well, all of you people with the white relatives in your bloodlines who you don't care to speak about, don't have anymore authority to say who is and who is not black than I do. So I say that Halle is just as much black as she is white. What you people decree carries no more weight that what others say. All you're doing is trying to pass your opinions off as facts. Your resentment, although palpable, does not empower you to override the true fact that it is what it is.

Arrogance doesn't teach a light-skin biracial/black child that their white blood is going to save them from being racially profiled while driving. Arrogance doesn't teach a light-skin biracial/black child that their white blood is going to protect them from being discriminated against when they apply for housing. Arrogance doesn't teach a light-skin biracial/black child that their white blood makes people "color blind". Arrogance doesn't teach a biracial-black child that their white blood will make people overlook their "black name" on a job application/resume.

You can think I'm arrogant all you want.

Stating that certain individuals need to "get over it" is not an implication to forget the brutality of slavery. However, it is an implication that what has been done, is done. Collectively, light-skin and dark-skin people will encounter racism that whites do not. That is the common denominator. And, to me, fighting about color--and who is black and who isn't--is completely unproductive on a political, financial, and educational level.

What's done is done, huh???? Ohhh. O-kaaay.

Well, I have a solution to everybody's problem: Why don't we all get over our histories.. just live as one big old community completely void of everybody's past.... Yeeeaah that'll work!.. All the whites and all the blacks will just be "done" with everything. Sounds good to me. Now tell your people to forget their past: Forget washington & Lincoln, Reagan & Carter, Elvis and them other honkeys. AND FUCK NINE ELEVEN!!!

...See what they say about that.

Then ask yourself this: who will have the wherewithal to teach your nappy-headed shortbreeds to dodge the muthafuckin police????

Whether MOON likes it or not....and the POST about "DNA" and percentages of Black blood on another thread bare me out.....there is about to be a MAJOR switcheroo in the U.S. about how people define themselves...despite what WHITE FOLKS want.

More and more blacks are beginning to demand more accurate representation. None of the Bi-racial children where I live want to be called "black". There are so many of them, living among mostly Latino, White and Asian people--and very few blacks---that they don't even identify with "blackness".

Meanwhile, the "ultra-blacks" are growing more and more frustrated at being denied Representation of "Blackness"---they want their dark luscious complexions and rich African hair to stand as the symbol of "blackness"---and they're right. That IS what's black.

The day is coming soon where MOON's children will not be able to introduce themselves to MY children and simply say--"I'm black". My sons wouldn't allow it.

And there is a growing "Black Aesthetic" in this country, which I'm very proud to be a part of helping to shape and form.

Kola:
Obviously, you didn't get the point I was making. My kids are FULLY aware that they are biracial, however, they look more black than white-- they definitely don't look white. And, most people (white, black, asian, latina/latino) don't even have to ask what they are--because they already assume they are black My children also understand the history of this country and understand why people consider them black--and have absolutely no issue with being considered black. As I said in another post, they will never see a white face in the mirror, and it would be a disservice to NOT teach them how this CURRENT world system runs. With consideration of this countries history (NOT Africa's) I'm dealing with the reality of today. Now, until your "revolution" is in full swing and this "new son" is birthed, talk is just that, talk.

ABM, I love Coretta Scott King a great deal and I always saw her as a black woman.

Especially after reading the interview Alice Walker did of her in "In Search of Our Mother's Gardens"-----and especially because she hand picked Cicely Tyson to portray her in the t.v. mini-series, "KING".

There's this other woman...Lonette Mckee...whose skin is almost WHITE and I absolutely love and adore her as well. I see her as my "Sister"--which is the best way I can put it. Her love for black women is sincere and pure--she holds many of the same views as I do, she's not a phoney.

And I met Teena Marie, and I REALLY loved her.

Funny. My wife and I were recently talking about Lonette McKee. It is AMAZING how a woman can look so White and yet feel so Black.

She did a good job of capturing the angst, dilemnas and complexity of being a lightskinned, biracial wife of a dark Black man in Spike Lee's Jungle Fever.

And who could forget her as the ill-fated Sister in Sparkle.

Coretta was the TRUTH. I'm not entirely sure about the direction of MLK's legacy in recent years. But Coretta could give style, grace, strength and dignity lessons to Oprah, Laura Bush and Queen Elizabeth while in her housecoat.

They wanted Diahann Carroll to play her in "KING", but Mrs. King insisted on Cicey Tyson. That's how she saw herself.

Her interview with Alice Walker---you gotta read it.

She was truly ROYALTY. Class personified.

And not one part of it was an act.

GOD!

I was both very impressed and awed YET really TURNED on my her BEAUTY.

I was getting wood just listening to and looking at her. Shyt. I'll bet her (White) interviewer's dyck was tapping the table they were sitting at.

Man. I don't even know what "Xenic slavery" is. But I can't help feeling as though I'd REALLY enjoy being the beneficiary of such.

I don't think she's going for dog collars and being walked around on her knees.

I mean...it's serious.

It's slavery.

But for Malcolm's yellow self....

A Xenic can only be BORN INTO it.

They raise those girls from birth like Geishas.

Didn't I see Snoop Dog pull off one these during MTV's Video Music Awards a couple years ago?

You can't score a temporary or guest membership in this Xenic dominant/submissive sect?

Well, Snoop's were standing up.

And a Xenic can't ever look a man in the eyes unless told to do so. The chin has to be down.

Oh. So if Snoop really knew what he was doing, his crew would have been on all 4's.

I ain't crazy. But I'm just saying, it seems like it might be something a brotha might wanna know a lil' sum'n sum'n about. You know: For scholarly purposes only.

Yeah, for scholarly purposes alright.

ALTHOUGH...I have played the role of a "Xenic" with Thomas on "treat" nights.

But I enjoy stuff like that.

Hey. Nicca gottah work his game, babe.

But, seriously, I think I'd have to be higher than a Space Shuttle to try to pull some of that Xenic stuff on the the wife.

She already think I was some White slaveowner in a former life. Proposing putting a dog collar and chains on her would pretty much confirm her fears.

I can't believe that complaints about Haley not being with a black enough black man! What a joke - I know ain't no black men complaining. I know she was married to two black men (both a lot darker than most of the women I see black men with), and one of them had dreads and was cheating on her of course. I don't believe in interracial relations but after all that she should get her love where she can find it. It's not as if black men are so devoted to black women - but of course the fact she is 'high yella' puts her near the top of their list. And as shallow as men are what woman wouldn't have self esteem issues?
