I was living in Miami a couple of years ago and I met a black man there. He said the most interesting thing. He said that he did not find Halle Berry attractive because she was to skinny. He thought that Serena Williams was very attractive instead.

At the time I was to stupid to understand. I mean didn't the world think Halle Berry was the most beautiful woman. Now I understand what he was saying. This was a black man who truly undertsood a black womans beauty. Not a white woman with a really good tane.

I don't think that Halle Berry is the most beautiful woman to black ppl. I think that she is beautiful in white standards. And I think that we as AA are so "mentally enslaved" that we will go along with whatever a white man says. How do you feel?

I think Halle is beautiful. Skinny legs, but really really cute.

I think Serena has a great body but is not cute in the face at all. Not ugly, but just not that pretty. The blond hair must go, it isn't flattering on her, and well, she looks kind of sweaty most of the time. And bad fashion sense! That bugs me more than anything.

Did this Black man really respect Serena's beauty, or her booty. Cuz I've never once heard a man say she was pretty.

Why is this board so focused on skin color? It's starting to get a little redundant.

And before folks go attacking me, I think Halle is pretty, but so are Grace Jones, Gabrielle Union, Mo'Nique, Sommore, Tocarra, and Kelly Rowland. I think I look at face, body, and clothes, and personality. But I'm a straight woman so, what do I know?

Call me self-centered, but I really focus more on whether or not people think I'm pretty if I think about it at all. I don't know any of those women.

To each his own. Some people are brainwashed. Some people just like what they like.

Huh? A lot of black guys were in love with Halle LONG before white america really took note of her.

Yeah Right!! Rolleyes Don't get me wrong she is a beautiful woman, but I don't think she shouldn't be the standard for black beauty. I don't know about the rest of you black men but I consider my mother, and my sisters the standard for black beauty. And they don't look like Halle Berry.

I think if more of us AA's looked at the women in our neighborhoods, schools, churches, and homes we would be better off. But we don't we look at Glamour, Elle, Vogue, and People to tell us what beautiful is. And I can tell you for a fact those magazines never have and never will give to shits about black ppl or our standards of beauty and humanity.
