She was one of our finest writers. BeBe will truly be missed. My favorite book by BeBe is
"What You Owe Me." She was a master storyteller.

i just saw that on yahoo... i never read any of her books, but i did like her production of that hot ass daughter of hers. mmmm mmmm mmmm. well may she rest in peace. ... why does it seem like everybody is dieing so close to the end of the year, man, you'd think that the grim reaper is rying to make a qouta or something. :-/

I always thought BeBe's book "Brothers and Sisters" was a definitive work about the relationship between black men and women. She was an excellent writer, more perceptive than Terri McMillan and less esoteric than Toni Morrison. Her literary voice will be missed in the world of black readers.

Very sad news!

I didn't know that was her daugther either --she is so gorgeous! I didn't know that she was a former drug addict and had a child. I didn't even know she was married. I thought she was so young. Guess not!
