Kramer isn't the only Cos who has finally showed his dirty draws. Dr. "Poundcake Thief" Cosby settled with that woman who accused him of drugging her and raping her--ain't heard a peep out of all you folks who was defending him when he was excoriating people who don't know how to behave and do their family life.

Well. What happened to you Cos fans?

I don't care that Cosby is a lecher because he pays his own way. The rich are different. They regularly tell others to do as they say do, not as they do. Then they give millions to charity to assuage their guilt.

Thats funny seeing as how Bill Cosby made the comment about "poor Black ppl" being lewd, lascivious, and promiscuous. Yet he goes around drugging and raping white women.

Can you all agree he had it coming???

Chris & Serenasailor, I'm completely unfamiliar with this case. I'm not even going to bother to look it up. I will tell you however, that just because Cos settled does not mean that he is guilty of what he is accused of doing.

Would you entertain the thought that he simply paid to make this thing go away?

I would not put it past Cos to have slept with the woman...

But as you know, Dr. King slept around. That does not, nor should it, diminish his impact on our country or the truth in his message. No (wo)man is perfect.

Cynique the rich are different they can "afford" to make mistakes.

I think we all engage in some "do as I say not as I do" talk. Many of us know what is right, but may simply be incapable of doing it ourselves -- should we not relate the correct information? Parents out there know what I'm talking about.

I'm still a Cosby fan simply because I think Cosby's contributions to the culture, most noteably, the Cosby show, was important on many levels.

I'm not going to discount his overall contrinutions because of his personal failures (which I'm sure he is quite ashamed of).

Chris if I followed you with a camera for 24 hours a day, for the past 40 years, would you be proud of everything that I saw?

I can't say whether or not he did it...I'm not familiar with the case or anything. But I do hate hypocrites, more than sinners. So, if he in fact did it, I don't want to hear crap from him anymore about the morals of other people. I don't care how much money he has. I hate hypocrites.

Renata, is Dr. King a Hyprocrite? If so, do you hate him too.

Do you "hate" the drug addict who begs their friends and family to stay away from drugs?

bill cosby is a very color struck individual.

his wife camille (who is a very attractive lady), is about as light as you can get.

bill cosby is a very concerened person, when it comes to skin color and skin tone.

bill cosby is VERY caught up in the "light skin/dark skin "business".,

just look at how he reacted to lisa bonet in the movie angel heart.

its clear that bill cosby (imo) was totally in love or lust wit lisa bonet (not that i can blame him).

bill cosby is a VERY COLOR struck man, who favores "light skin feamles".

i don't know if bill cosby druged anyone.

but i do know that bill cosby had a SERIOUS atraction toward lisa bonet.

bill cosby LOVES light skin females. he loves hid wife, and he loves light skin feamales of all types.

bill cosby was totally in LOVe with lisa bonet (i m not saying this is a fact, only my opinion.

bill cosby was deeply in love with lisa bonet.

Troy,

I'm not sure the comparison between Cos and MLK is a fair one. I don't recall Dr. King doing the specific, discriminatory kind of moralizing that Cos has done. Also, MLK took the RISKS that Cosby NEVER did or would.

All,

I agree it's possible that an innocent Cosby would still settle with his accuser. Fearing OTHER embarrassing, hurtful things being revealed about him via a trial, he and his advisors might conclude it's safer for him to pay for this chick to STFU.

But I have heard enuff about Cos (from some fairly reliable sources) to BELIEVE he did SOMETHING untoward with/to this chick.

My guess: He and this chick had a (seemingly) consentual sexual relationship and when he decided to dump her in the dustbin of former Cosby fuhkbuddies WITHOUT adequately compensating her for her time (and cQQchie wear-n-tear), she decided to cry "Rape!!!"

BTW: Was the paternity of Autumn Jackson, the chick who tried to extort cash from Cos via claiming she was the product of his having an extramarital affair, ever confirmed?

Last I heard, The COS refused to submit to a paternity test. Since Autumn Jackson was an adult at the time she made the claim, rather than a minor, no court could FORCE Cosby to submit to such testing.

U_S,

In other words, Cos was scared shytless of possibly being the Autumn's dad but smartly strung her (and her momma) along long enuff for the law to give him a free get-outta-babydaddy card.

ABM, of course Cosby is no "King" but both men are imprefect and have encouraged other to do the right thing -- even though they themsleves may have fallen short. In my mind that is OK. I'm sure King must have preached on the importance fidelity somewhere along the line.

We also know, as Chris frequently poinst out, that King's message was not always met with open arms.

The point I'm trying to make is we may not like the messenger or even the way the message is delivered; but if someone says something that is right -- don't through out the baby with the bath water.

Otherwsie we'll be left having to listen to folks like Kanye West for moral guidance.

--------------

Bill may like light skinned women. But hey light skinned women deserve love too, right.

Troy....what ABM said. Dr. King fought against the immorality of racism. I don't remember ever hearing or reading of him speaking against people at all for any reason. That's one thing that I liked about him, he had a kind of "hate the sin, love the sinner" kind of attitude and didn't make his crusade personal against anyone or any group of people. Of course white people took it personally, but he wasn't against them only against their racism.

Someone who ADMITS their mistakes and warns others, I don't consider a hypocrite. Someone who pretends they're so good and perfect, while doing (and enjoying and feeling no guilt about) things and berates others for the same is a hypocrite.

Troy:

I ain't on a grandstand trying to tell people how to live. When you get up on a high horse, people see your dirty drawers and they will point it out.

Nobody settles a rape case to make it "go away" plus there are several other women who have similar cases.

You worship him just because he has a lot of money don't you? You have daughters. How would you feel if he did this to them? Who would you believe?

Come on, man!

Bill Cosby ain't a preacher, so it's not surprising that he sinned. And people exploit celebrities just as much as celebrities exploit them. Nothing about Cosby's personal life makes what he said about the underclass untrue. His flaws are beside the point. Assassinating his chasracter may make his critics feel better but it doesn't undo the fact that the black community is in crises and some of the reasons for this are the ones that Cosby pointed out.

And, BTW, since Renata is so pious, she needs to practice what King preached, and hate the sin and love the sinner when it comes to Bill Cosby. Talk about a hypcrite! Cosby could get on his knees and beg for forgivenance then answer a calling to go into the ministry, and preach about humbleness and you blubbering do-gooders and feel-badders who have taken it upon yourselves to empathize with inner city residents, would still insist on doing the crying for people who ain't thinkin about what Cosby said because they're gettin on with their lives, playing by their own rules. You bleeding heart drones need to stop pattin yourselves on the back for being soooooo "compassionate" and get real.

So basically what you are saying Cynique is that poor(ghetto) black ppl are so out of line that someone needs to say something(anybody)? No matter how retched the individual is who is doing the preaching just as long as someone says something.

I don't buy that especially when you are talking about the subject of morals like Bill Cosby did. BTW, what Bill Cosby did was 10x's worse than what any poor Black person did in the eyes of white society he drugged and raped a WW.

Now if anybody needs a stern talking to it is him.

ABM: You know uppity kneegrows like he and Cosby have got to stick together. I laughed out loud when I read this.

Chris, Cynique raises an interesting question: Would OJ be your right hand man over the Cos?

Chris, I worship no man. I met Cos once, he actually seemed almost frail - but on stage he was incredibly engaging and funny.

If my daughters ever said anything like that about Cos or any another man -- that man would come up missing. I have no doubt that my daughter's would not lie to me about such a thing.

However I can not give some miscellaneous white woman the same advantage -- she'd have to prove it to me. Apparently, in this case, this will never happen.

Cos is a celebrity. He is a target. As such he will attract people who are only interested in his money. Cos is an easy target beacuse it is pretty clear he likes to screw around...

Bottom line I'm a fan of Cosby's work on TV, books, and the work he does with his wife, in the community.

Clearly on a personal level Cos has had his share of serious problems. I will not discount or, even trade in, that tremendous body of work for what he has allegedy done.

Apparently more than half the Black kids born today are born out of wedlock -- we are giving Cos grief for doing what the majority of Black men are already doing? How many of these Black men have built buildings on, or contributed to any college?

I find it is almost bizzare that anyone would give OJ a pass, but rake Cosby over the coals.

Both are celebrities, movies stars and "loved" by the white community.

OJ is accused of cutting the heads off of two other people and is not exactly known for giving back to the Black community.

The other is accused of raping a woman and has given a prodigious amount of time and money to black community.

I'd trade Cos for OJ anyday of the freaking week.

”Dr. "Poundcake Thief" Cosby settled with that woman who accused him of drugging her and raping her--ain't heard a peep out of all you folks who was defending him when he was excoriating people who don't know how to behave and do their family life.”

Chris, I have no idea how you equated what Richards did to Bill Cosby. Richards had an out of body experience with his racism and before he could turn it off it was too late. Cosby told the truth. I know it offended the race sensitivities of some blacks who were more concerned that whites heard (as if they don’t already know) what he said rather than what he said.

”Well. What happened to you Cos fans?”

Still here bro. Just like everything Cos said is still here and has not changed either!

”Thats funny seeing as how Bill Cosby made the comment about "poor Black ppl" being lewd, lascivious, and promiscuous.”

He never said poor blacks as a group were lewd, lascivious and promiscuous! He was addressing the pathology of many who are in the hard core black underclass! And what he said is true. Are you saying it does not exist? It’s a total lie and cannot be proven????

”Yet he goes around drugging and raping white women.”

And you can prove this? You know for a fact that he drugged and raped a white woman? You can provide the results of a rape kit and have the DNA results? Any witnesses who can collaborate her allegation? What proof do you have?

”Can you all agree he had it coming???”

Had what coming? He’s doing just fine. What are you talking about? Got any details…???

”bill cosby is a VERY COLOR struck man, who favores "light skin feamles".”

And? How do you know this? Did he say it? And even if he was –SO WHAT?? That’s his personal preference and he doesn’t have to defend, explain, justify nor rationalize his personal tastes to you or anyone else. I’m into women with hips, big asses and big legs. It’s an obsession I’ve had all my life. I could careless what anyone else thinks about my fetish and I offer no apologies for it. It’s based on observable physicals characteristics. If he is into light complexioned women (as you allege), well, it’s an attraction that has nothing to do with you. I had a Latina friend tell me this week she was not attracted to Mexican men. A long standing Filipina friend of mine told me this past Monday that she has never been attracted to Asian men. And a black female friend woman told me last night she met guy that she is crazy about. She said he was a deep chocolate color. She was raving about the brothers color and told me she was only attracted to dark complexioned men. It's her prerogative. People have a right to their personal preferences. Again –SO WHAT..???? You’re attracted to what you are attracted to. Why should anyone have to explain, justify or be harshly castigated for their personal attractions?

Troy,

I don't think the contrast of OJ and Cosby is fair and valid here.

A reasonable person can wholly detest OJ YET still support his acquittal. Likewise, a reasonable person can greatly admire Cosby YET still find fault with some of what he says and does.

But, okay. If I had my pick of who I'd rather be my ally, I'd choose Cosby as well.

Sounds like a pretty good comparison to me, Troy, especially when put in the context of how biased chrishayden and his parrots are when they give the infamous OJ the benefit of the doubt in a murder, but find the famous Cosby guilty in seeking to uplift his people.

First of all, no one has to justify their personal preferences. People do what they do. It may not be mine or even your choice of interest, but they have a right to pursue and engage what attracts them. What do you not understand about this?

My best friend and I are deeply into thick curvy women big shapely legs. No excuses nor rationalizations will be given. However, he has male friends who prefer petite and small women. Who is right? Who is wrong?

The black woman friend of mine who is into dark complexioned brothers does not have to justify her attraction nor change it to subscribe to some silly politically correct notion. And for the record, I don’t recall mentioning anyone being attracted to white women (even though that is a personal preference as well that does not have to be defended –IMO) as you stated. So where did that come from?

"I find it is almost bizzare that anyone would give OJ a pass, but rake Cosby over the coals.

Both are celebrities, movies stars and "loved" by the white community.

OJ is accused of cutting the heads off of two other people and is not exactly known for giving back to the Black community.

The other is accused of raping a woman and has given a prodigious amount of time and money to black community.

I'd trade Cos for OJ anyday of the freaking week."

Brillant! I agree 100%! You're on the money bro Troy.

ABM -- Cool

NTFS -- us uppity knee-grows gotta stick togther.

Cynique -- chrishayden and his parrots are not uncommon. I spoke on this subject with a few people over the holidays and got some of the same impressions from other folks. Interesting.
