Famed actor Wesley Snipes who stars in the new thriller Blade, recently described Asian women as "bedroom generals" and recalled how he told Sean Connery that the White actor must have some Black blood in him.
In a revealing interview in Movieline with writer Lawrence Grobel, Snipes said there is a difference among Black, White and Asian women,
"I've come to the conclusion that beautiful women in the West aren't comfortable finding strength in their femininity. They want to do masculine-oriented things to establish their femininity," Snipes said.
"It's a contradiction. Water doesn't have to fight a rock to prove it's as strong as a rock. Water understands it's soft and gentle..."
Snipes, who is dating Asian model and restaurateur Donna Wong, added, "Asian women are out there: They're beautiful, compassionate. (But) Black women are beautiful; some White women are beautiful."
Snipes also noted, "I read that Asian women were bedroom generals. Some people think that means they're great in bed, but that's not the issue. They're talking about a place where the man is at his most vulnerable, where they have the most control. They don't have to beat him over the head to mow the lawn. They can whisper it in his ear and give him a kiss on the cheek and it's no problem. That's a general."

However, there were a number of black female actors in the Blade triology, as I recall.

Well, you have to remember my dear, that’s his opinion. We don’t know what his personal experiences are and why he feels as he does. Personal experiences shape and define ones out look and perspectives on life and relationships. If he is more comfortable with Asian women, so what? Why do you care? And how does his personal preferences affect or impact your life? Name one consequence his personal preference has had on your life? I don’t agree with excluding black women from ones dating preferences -but that’s me. I wouldn’t do it but if he feels Asian women work better for him, why is he wrong? Why would he lie? And most of all, why is he not entitled to his personal preference?

He was responsible for giving Maya Angelou her first directorial opportunity with ”Down In the Delta” (starring the much underrated actress Alfre Woodard) and got Terry McMillan's novel, "Disappearing Acts", a romantic drama (directed by Gina Prince-Bythewood, and stars Sanaa Lathan, Regina Hall and bro Wesley) to the screen. He also (with HBO's assistance) hired mostly all black women on the crew! No one else did that! So don't be so quick to dismiss the brother for his personal life. In reading this, it seems as though his responses were written out of context...happens all the time in journalism.
In this article, I don't see where he implicated himself as hating black women, or even having a "preference" for Asian women. |

Jeeze, Robynmarie. Shouldn't that have beeen "stutter" instead of "studder"? Leave the "stud" implications to ol womanizing Wesley and employ the word "stutter" to deny your having a speech impediment. LOL.
IMO. Wesley Snipes speaks in generalities when it comes to women, but it is his prerogative to prefer the kind of female who is compatible with his sexuality. And since water exists in many forms - liquid, frozen and vaporized, I find it kinda apt to compare women to it because of their changing moods, and there is something very gentle and calming about the stream of a brook rippling over rocks. |

Indicted U.S. actor Snipes in Namibia: officials

JOHANNESBURG (Reuters) - Actor Wesley Snipes, indicted by U.S. authorities for tax fraud this week, is filming a movie in the African country of Namibia which has no extradition treaty with Washington, officials said on Friday.
"It is confirmed. He is definitely here," Edwin Kanguatjivi, chief executive officer of the Namibia Film Commission, said by telephone. "He has been in Namibia since the end of August."
Snipes, the star of the "Blade" movie series, is the lead actor in a new movie entitled "Gallowwalker" filming in the Namibian desert near the town of Swakopmund -- the same coastal resort where Hollywood superstars Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt had their first child in May.
Production officials reached at the film set on Friday declined to comment.
U.S. officials in Tampa, Florida, issued a warrant for Snipes' arrest on an indictment that alleges the 44-year-old actor illegally claimed tax refunds of almost $12 million.
Snipes, who has appeared in more than three dozen movies including "Jungle Fever," "White Men Can't Jump," "Rising Sun" and "U.S. Marshals," could face 16 years in prison if convicted on all charges.
The indictment alleges that Snipes failed to file federal income tax returns from 1999 through 2004 and conspired with two accomplices to file two amended returns for Snipes for 1996 and 1997, fraudulently claiming tax refunds of almost $12 million.
Namibia has no extradition treaty with the United States, a situation spotlighted last month when fugitive U.S. software millionaire Jacob "Kobi" Alexander was discovered to be living in the southwest African country.
U.S. officials said despite the lack of a formal treaty they were nevertheless preparing to ask Namibia for the extradition of Alexander, the former chief and founder of Comverse Technology Inc who is wanted in the United States on charges of manipulating stock options.

You don’t need a pass to do anything. You just date who you want to. Why should you have to explain or justify who you sleep with? It’s no ones business. If you were not attracted to black men for whatever reason, so what? Get over it! It would be no ones business but yours. I had a black female friend who told me her sister refused to date black men. I met her sister once and she was a very pleasant person. I never brought up her preference for dating non-black men. Why? Because that is her personal preference and she is entitled to it. I don’t know what her personal life experiences are and I could care less. I wasn’t offended. There is no shortage of black women so her preference meant nothing to me. Besides, what would I look like becoming confrontation with someone, who I did not know, about their personal life?
I have no idea why you are so concerned about who Snipes dates, why he does so or what his opinions are. What is he to you? I amazes me how people work themselves up into a lather over what someone else does in their personal lives. It has nothing to do with you.
