This season of the Wire (HBO) is, and last season was HOT. Each were far better than any of the last thre seasons of the Sopranos.

I can't wait to see the fall out between The Sociooath Marlo and that Homo-Thug Omar. Everybody can act the sub plots are intriguing.

Oh. My. God.

I love The Wire!!! I've been watching it from the start. Are you aware that the episodes are available on HBO OnDemand? A few days before they air on regular HBO. I've been waking up at five o'clock on Mondays just to watch The Wire!!!

Troy, you are one of the finest men who ever lived.

I love The Wire. I wish I was on The Wire. I think I am going to change my name to Chris "Wire" Hayden and have the cast and crew adopt me.

I dismiss all tv and film as make believe garbage up front. I gauge how good it is to whether the program can make me forget it is all bs.

Man, this stuff got me going so bad I have started talking at the characters on the screen like they are real--

Filming the show with real backdrops gives the whole thing an almost documentary feel. I too like this better than the Sopranos but it is because it has so many blacks on it, so I am hardly being objective there.

Some of the people who are involved in this brought us "The Corner".

This is the best thing on tv in years.

I LOVE the Wire,

HOWEVER

though I understand they wanted to use local actors (thank god for them being on small parts), the acting just isn't as good as the previous seasons. BUT THOSE KIDS ARE DOING A GREAT JOB!!!!

I'm scared that there won't be a showdown between Marlo & Omar (if you saw the preview of episode 42, you'll know what I'm talking about)...I'll be rooting for Omar if it does happen.

I watched this show off and on during the first season. But I wasn't able to watch it consistently so I lost track of it. Now it's been on the air so long, I can't even catch up with it, as far as storyline and characters are concerned, so I don't even bother to view it. But I always hear good things about this show and I feel so out-of-the-loop. Can anyone recommend a way that I can catch up? I now have that digital cable box that I can record on so even when I have a schedule conflict I can always watch it later.

US - Season two and three were available on my HBO OnDemand system until a couple of weeks ago. Watch for the old seasons there. Boxed set DVDs are available as well. Check for those at eBay (if you want to save money).

HBO on demand is the way to catch up. I watched last season in about three days. I rarely watch any TV live and I don't record very much, so I'm usually surfing the OnDemand channels for something to watch when I have occasion to plop in front of the TV.

Va_sis, I rooting for Omar too. But his last job was just too freaking reckless -- how does he expect to get away? Omar will get got.

When Omar took the ring from Marlo - that was priceless.

Marlo has no honor -- at all. But he is the kind of guy you love to hate.

That female enforcer is a vicious little thing huh? I loved that scene in the home depot. I thought she was a little boy at first.

The wire is defintely on my list of my all time favorite TV series. Up there with Cosby, All in the Family, Star Trek (not deep space nine), Mash, The Honeymoners, Law and Order..., et al

Troy,

Did you know that "Snoop" plays her REAL self?

Her name IS Felicia "Snoop" Pearson. She's from B-More. She went to jail on an eight year bid for 2nd degree murder WHEN SHE WAS 14...she got out maybe six years ago.

Talk about art as life.

I think that this this Puerto Rican that Omar has teamed up with will be his downfall. And Marlo is getting REAL petty for killing that security guard because he stepped to him to correct him.

Va_sis, I did not know that about Snoop, interesting. I hope she uses her money and celebrity in a positive fashion.
