Lady O's Big News!
You've seen OPRAH and GAYLE laugh and bicker while driving cross-country in their Chevy Impala, and today they're embarking on a whole new adventure together. They're taking their act to XM radio with the "Oprah & Friends" channel, which debuted today on the pay satellite service.
To celebrate the launch, Oprah treated Gayle and the rest of her radio co-hosts to breakfast at the world-famous Rainbow Room in New York. The star-studded guest list included interior designer NATE BERKUS, Pulitzer Prize-nominated author MAYA ANGELOU, personal trainer BOB GREENE, heart surgeon DR. MEHMET OZ, psychologist DR. ROBIN SMITH, financial expert JEAN CHATZKY and spiritual author MARIANNE WILLIAMSON.
Each of these personalities will advise listeners on topics including nutrition, fitness, health, self improvement, finance and more. And celeb guests such as ANNETTE BENING, JULIA LOUIS-DREYFUS, JON BON JOVI, New York Times columnist TOM FRIEDMAN and real estate kingpin DONALD TRUMP are expected to sit in on the conversations over the first few weeks.
In addition, Oprah and Gayle will host their own fun segment, a weekly 30-minute phone call between the two pals as they talk about everything from the latest news to daily gossip.
"Gayle has said for years that it is a shame that other people couldn't be in on our conversations, so that will be part of the format," Oprah says. "I stay up on current events, but I call her 'Gayle King Eyewitness News,' because I don't watch a lot of television and am not for the most part concerned with a lot of things that are going on with celebrities and so forth, but she is a current events/culture fanatic in that she is up on everything and loves to talk to people. [Our show] will be about what is going on in the world, and we will talk about it the way we do as girlfriends."

Anyone who listens to that garbage needs to get a life. And how the fuck are Oprah's friends going to teach the rest of us about finances? Don't she support all their broke asses or promote them and their projects for free? Besides Dr. Angelou, most of her cronies were never heard of until she put them on her show to demonstrate to the rest of us that our lives were meaningless until they came along. Oprah sucks. |

I watched Oprah and Gayle's cross country sojourn and, as I suspected, Oprah away from her regular show is quite different from Oprah au naturalle. She looks older and has an innate "sista" vibe that rears its corn-rowed head. So I give "O" credit for being able to capitalize off of her cultivated on-camera persona. She and Gayle really did act like an ol married couple. Maybe they are platonic lesbos. |

Nice posts. But I still don't understand why anyone cares what Oprah does in her personal life and why they are fascinated with whether she is gay or not. I respect her accomplishments and I wish her well. Outside of that, I could care less about her show and what she does off camera. |

I don't think Oprah has everything. She doesn't have children. She doesn't have a minute away from the weaves. She doesn't have a man who is interested in women. She doesn't have an easy time maintaining her weight. She wasn't let into the Hermes store - haha
However she DOES have a lot of money, power, a lot of different wigs and weaves and a lot of jewelry and a lot of pictures of herself on the cover of and inside O magazine. What more could a woman want? A LOT MORE |

She is not a poor lil rich girl; she says she consideres herself the luckiest woman on the earth, and seems very happy and smug as she luxuriates in her rarified lifestyle.
