First off let me say this: I am not Cynique, Mzuri, Kola or who ever else gets accused of being whoever and I challenge the moderator to check my IP to verify that. I have been lurking here for about a month. I have read a lot of posts and some of them are quite shocking and pitifully childish.
I don't understand why almost ALL topics pertain to Kola Boof. I mean aren't there other authors to discuss on this site? True, I have read some of Kola's incoherent rants and true, I have read her advocates defending her right to say whatever. Well, that is fine but since when did a website that is suppose to cater to black literary figures/books become a "LET'S BASH THE CRAZY BITCH KOLA BOOF" club?
Surely you all are not that riled up to fight amongst each other over a person you've never met? I bet even KOLA is sick of talking about Kola. It's seems that Mzuri, Shakspir and Cynique have formed some sort of crusade to defame, criticize and disrespect Kola Boof. Why?
What I mean is, you three seem intelligent enough. Why constantly come to a website DAILY just to argue with Tonya, Brownbeauty and Prettybabygirl? It's the same thing, day in and day out.
Aren't yall tired? Please forgive me but you all seemed to be messed up mentally. I don't know if the Kola ish has yall just wired or what. It just seems so damn pointless to argue about the same damn thing every day.
Seriously, why do yall do it? I know you could hurl some curse filled insults and to be honest, that wouldn't surprise me because that would just prove my point that you don't have a legitimate reason to argue over a female you don't know.
I also don't understand Prettybabygirl's eerie, fantical attachment she has. It's quite disturbing, to read a grown woman acting as if she's defending her husband or child...over an internet argument. It should be common sense to see that Mzuri is NOT going to change her stance, neither is Shakspir or Cynique. Why keep trying to uplift Kola when they don't give a damn about her? Just stop. Your constant infatuation with Kola is just sick. Please find something else to do to burn calories.
All this site talks about is Kola this, Kola that, who's impersonating a userid, who's the blackest, who's the whitest, etc.
WTF does that have to do with anything? I know this particular forum is called Race, economy and culture but whenever a legit topic is brought up, leave it to one of the six of you to butcher it by mentioning color or Kola.
Can't yall be civil just once? It's like black women cannot get a long for shit. Show some class and couth. We are all sistas...beautiful, intelligent, head-strong ones and I just think it's sad that I can't read any of your opinions on anything else EXCEPT Kola Boof.
Personally, I'm getting sick of seeing her name all through out this message board, especially when it used just to insult her or when she insults someone else.

You're welcome to join in and bless us with your over-abundance of intelligence, charm, class and couth. And once you've been here for a while, perhaps you will grasp what's really going on. Boardies aren't typically at each other's throats, we're usually just yanking each other's chain. And it's all in good fun. As far as our conversations focusing on Kola Spoof - not really. If you'll look at the last 15 posts or so, she's not mentioned at all.
Regarding your statement about who has met whom, how in the world do you know who any of us have met in person or who we know? You don't even know who we are, or do you? And if you're really that sick of it here, why are you hanging around??? You have the option of hanging out over at the lit board, those boardies rarely argue about anything at all. And there's about twenty-five gazillion other forums, blogs and chats happening online right now as we speak.
My beef with Kola Spoof - I'm tired of defending ppl's criticism of me about that, so I won't elaborate. Just believe that I didn't start the shit and it's totally justified. Stick around and maybe you can figure it out. If it's really that interesting to you. |

People are less inclined to post at the literature forum because it doesn't have quite as much discussion participation as this one. And sometimes posters don't respond for days at a time.
And again, it's really not fair to constantly label every black female a Kola "poser" or "follower" just because they agree with a few points she makes. If you venture out onto other forums, there are other Black/Mixed Americans who agree with some of her message about the Black Identity being separate from a Mixed Race Identity. Just lurk on a Mulatto.org forum, or one of those Mixed Race threads. I think ppl are just turned off by how opinionated and heavy-hearted she is about the issue--like it's do or die.
I know its just a matter of time before Americansista is accused of being Kola or somebody else. With this kind of attitude how are we ever going to get new posters to feel welcome enough to join regardless of what side of the fence they fall on concerning Culture, Race, and Economy. Honestly, that's why we have the same small circle of people with the same ideas posting over and over again. We gotten so bored and tired with each other that all we do is bicker and make quit witted remarks. It's okay at times but its reached the level of harassment. It would be nice if we had more White people on this forum or Mixed race individuals to challenge Kola's views. That we be VERY interesting. But I think many lurkers are too intimidated or don't want anything to do with the constant berating and cattiness that goes on. |

BB - What I have found in my 40+ years is that attitude begets attitude. And I didn't accuse this poster of being anyone. This has already been addressed today. Read the post. Why is she calling out certain people by name? She could have simply stated "some people" or whatever. She's been lurking for a month and she knows all about the motivation of people who have been here for years? Could be but I think not. But maybe she knows who we're screwing. Perhaps she's psychic.
There is no small circle here. You have your core posters and then you have people who come and go and it's ever changing. That's the dynamic of any discussion forum anywhere on the internet. If people are too intimidated to post online, that's their problem. As US mentioned in an earlier post today, it's not as if anyone is going to jump thru your computer monitor and stick their foot up your ass. And if one takes some of these online comments and or insults personally, then they ought to surf elsewhere or else shut down their computer and go find something else to do. The online community obviously isn't meant for them.
But when your very first post is "y'alls a bunch of stupid mentally challenged bitches" then you can't really expect a warm welcome, can you? And you won't be treated with kid gloves. |

Americansista, excuse me if I'm not impressed with your credibility. Why do you come to this board if you have a problem with the Kola Boof saturation? Nobody is forcing you to read those threads which are usually initated by the self-promoting Kola and the trolls she creates. It's not like she's a poor defenseless innocent victim. Yes, she can be charming and is extremely intelligent but she is also an aggressive, viscious, lying, conniving, profane person who gives as good as she gets. I am not the villain, here. And, in spite of what you accuse, I bypass most of her posts especially the ones about the tired subject of colorism. I participate mostly in those threads which I find interesting, which is what I suggest you limit your reading to. If you are a lurker, then you haven't earned the right to jump on this site and start chiding those who don't behave in the manner which meets with your approval. I will continue to be Cynique and if you have a problem with that - well, too friggin bad.

Could we at least wait until Kola gets back to the board to start talking about her Cynique? I for one am burned out on this frigg'n obsession Mzuri, yourself and others have with this person who isnt even worth it. All I have seen are Mzuri trolls the last few weeks and lost a lot of respect for her. You never mention that fact. I know what thread "brownbeauty" is talking about, the thread in which kola boasted about being a slut and taunted Moonsigns about being able to screw her husband, and in which I implied that I also thought Moonsigns was a little naive. I don't know how that thread absolves kola from being the way I described her.I should've mentioned that kola-nut is also a manic depressive. LOL I'm waiting for this "archive scroller" to supply some links to all those serial posts of kola's when she goes on rampages, cursing people out in the vilest manner, attacking their families while running a gallery of grotesque, bizarre pictures, not to mention all of the dumpy pictures of herself that she subjects the board to. I did "NATE" for Back House Books, it won the American Book Award. It hasn't sold a lot of copies yet because the distribution is very poor. But at least it was recognized as a significant literary achievement--more than what I can say for "Diary of a Lost Girl," which people are laughing at.
Kola's "Diary" sold far more copies, but in the end, who is respected more? Kola made a minstrel show out of herself for fame and fortune(I doubt if she got much of the latter), but I have retained my dignity. |
