maybe it was just michigan that had it's primaries, anyways i didn't know who half the fudgers on the ballots where ... i started picking folks who looked like they had cool names after a while. i know thats bad, but oh well. i wonder if i could win some of this shiznit that they have up for election. some of those spots didn't even have challengers ... i wonder how much cashola you get for these govt positions? hmmm.

Doberman,

State's have different primary schedules. Ours in Illinois was earlier in the year than Michigan's (and Georgia's).

It is interesting to see people run without opposition.

I guess part of it is the high cost and energy of running an election. One part's the utter lack of interest in serving in elected office. And one part is not even knowing the positions EXIST which is due to the 'lack of interest in serving in elected office'.
