My departure had little to do with Kola or any one person in particular. Perhaps I should have chosen a more appropriate way and paid closer attention to the timing---but, honestly, it was meant to be lighthearted, sarcastic in a way, and not be taken too seriously. However, I read some of the statements made throughout the day and realized that there’s a bit of confusion; so I’d like to cite a portion of Prettybabgirl’s post since it’s the only one that came close to the truth; so much so that I cosign the entire thing.

Kola is out in the open like an exhibitionist, her pictures, life and stories are in full view, but I don't distrust Kola anymore than I do you or anyone else here to be honest. The things you just about Kola could apply to any human being here, and Kola has always been an outrageous presence with outlandish posts and rebuttals.
I don't believe that Tonya takes this board THAT seriously. At least I hope not.
I believe Tonya would cuss out Kola if she was mad at her, but she named Kola first in her goodbyes and said nothing derogatory.

I am not going to enjoy this board without you laying down the truth just like Mama would, because few here have any decent home training anymore. You are one of the few who talk sense.
OK.
We need all the true sistas we can get, because it's becoming hard for a sister to hold a smile, and this is a place where we can come and remind each other that there a few of us still left who care about the "soul" of what a black person is.
I wish you would stay.

I think I will leave to, this isn't what I was hopeing it to be. I have observed nothing but ugliness amongst brothers and sisters here,when in these time of weakened black unity, I believe minds should come together not further apart. I looked at past posts and seen where Kola has made excellent points, ABM came correct in his views, Cynique was able to dish playful banter with ChrisHayden and both of them still leaving with intelligence displayed, Tonya, Serenasailor, Mzuri though controversial in your own ways you still kept the posts going, Doberman23 though he seemed silly most of the time he also had a unique way of keeping things interesting and somewhat insightful, Moonsigns is often treated like a black sheep but in reality she probably has more soul than half of the posters on here, there are many of you who have alot to share such as Batmocop, Rastafarius, Nels, Prettybrowngirl, Tonya and all the rest of you, I just hope that it is more than just about who someone is dating. I will attempt to come back here when theres more to share then negative vibes, until then good luck to you all.

Good Luck Tonya and Juelz. The dynamics of a discussion forum is that people come, some people stay, and some people go. And people take breaks. It's always changing and that's what keeps it interesting. As far as negativity amongst Black people, this place is no different than the real world. |

Well Tonya I sure hope you and Kola stick around, you two make the board a lot more interesting and amusing. It’d be pretty damn drab without you. You are the ones with the most interesting, informative, and meaningful input up here about black issues. And this place would be flooded with nothing but a bunch of coons without you. I know you're not going to hand it over to them are you? I sure hope not! Your posts about black awareness issues are greatly appreciated. Please keep up the good work! |

Well, she still was not very definitive about why she is leaving. It makes no sense. I wonder if this is a stunt for attention. I hope not. I spoke my piece about her leaving. Not gonna beat a dead horse. I hate to see anyone leave becase they could not handle the subject matter ot heat. DON'T TAKE IT PERSONALLY OR SERIOUSLY! Don't go, Tonya. You are the real thing, - one of the few opponents of colorism who isn't an alter ego of Kola. Without you, they'll be no one to provoke the rest of us who have become apathetic about the issue of color. |
