Tonya routinely has "emotional" breakdowns because she takes the things that are posted here personally. I would venture to guess that all the latest drama with Kola having been outed about her incessant lying and the multiple shill accounts she has created here, and the fact that Tonya has always been a staunch and faithful supporter of Kola, routinely coming to her defense (in the disputes that I have had with Kola anyway) have taken their toll. I got the impression that Tonya thought the world of Kola, and now Tonya probably feels used, played, tricked and deceived by Kola. That's what I think about it.
The problem about Kola's deception is that even though she's only been caught in one scheme, we have no way of knowing what's true or false about her. It's possible that every single thing that Kola has ever posted is a lie. She is a writer, after all.
And PBG - Don't start with me today. Please. Your comments aren't funny. Why don't you have the balls to finger-point towards the real culprit here. |

Kola's the only person whose identity we really know on this board.
We don't know who Abm is, who Cynique is, who you are or anyone else.
Kola is out in the open like an exhibitionist, her pictures, life and stories are in full view, but I don't distrust Kola anymore than I do you or anyone else here to be honest. The things you just about Kola could apply to any human being here, and Kola has always been an outrageous presence with outlandish posts and rebuttals.
I don't believe that Tonya takes this board THAT seriously. At least I hope not.
Lately, Tonya has focused on posting threads that pointed out the "irony" of people like yourself laughing at racist cartoon caricatures and women like Urban_Scribe talking down to black people, and several months ago when Kola was not here, Tonya quit the board with the same complaint about the black people on here being Uncle Toms.
She and Nfts have been having a battle lately, but you were too busy with Kola to notice.
I believe Tonya would cuss out Kola if she was mad at her, but she named Kola first in her goodbyes and said nothing derogatory.
The culprit is people like you, Mzuri. Most people here have genuine affection for Kola (even though they could smack her), but most people here don't like you or Schakspir and some others. That's just the truth. If you were to leave, I doubt the board would really care all that much.

I concur with Prettybabygirl. For ALL of her self-aggrandizement, ambiguity and downright OUTLANDISHMENT, Kola is - by FAR - the more REAL person here.
And she's certainly the most candid.
I mean, I gottah like someone who'll show the kinds of pictures of yourself that Kola's shown (my alltime favorite being the one of her shapely but crusty a$$).
When you juxtapose what Kola's revealed of herself versus that of the rest of us, I'd argue there BY FAR more reason to trust and empathize with her.

I disagree.
I can deal with Kola telling a white lie or two. I can even deal with her sex talk because I'm a sexual liberal as well. What I can't stand is her self-righteous ways that she thinks gives her license to attack people she don't even know...myself included. And through all of that, I was able to look past it.
But I'll be damned if I'll trust & empathize with her over the others here...just because she put her life on Front Street when others don't.
Have you ever thought about WHY she makes her life public?
I have female "acquaintances" who are spoiled, self-centered, self-conscious and insecure.
When in their presence, especially if there are men in the mix, they make pointed efforts to keep "all eyes on them", by any means neccessary. EVERYBODY knows their entire life story, sees the tattoos, WHATEVER...kinda like what's been happening on this board. When it doesn't work and they don't have the attention they want, they either kick it up a notch or say & do shit to make everyone else miserable.
I can't stand to be around them, and you say that people like that should be trusted and empathized with? Are you serious? And just because this is internet drama, why should it be treated any differently?

Well, it’s hard to say. I hope not also. I hate to see anyone leave because they can’t handle the heat. I recall subscribing to the All About Jazz (an incredible web site for music and their monthly publication of serious creative improvised music is second to none!) political board. I will admit that it is a very liberal forum that is not friendly to hard line conservatives (just like a moderate or liberal will receive a severe beating if they post at rightwingnews.com –a very hard core right wing board). There was one guy who stridently defended Bush and the questionable antics of the Republican party. Well, they swarmed all over him. But the language (unlike this board at times) people directed at him was not offensive or personal. But still, he left the board because he said he was tired of people picking on him! But people urged this guy to stay and stand his ground. But he couldn’t stand the heat, took the rebuttals very personally and could not handle people disagreeing with him and shredding his arguments. I mean, this guy was wailing like a babe lost in the woods. He kept posting that people were rude to him and were unfairly ganging up on him. That was not exactly true. But regardless, after the urging of others for him not to leave, he bailed. I hope Tonya is not like this guy.

No, it’s not true! Yes, Mzuri can be extremely confrontational and will not back down from anyone. Capitulation is not in her genes. And yes, she uses some of the most intensely graphic and colorful language I have ever heard –bar none! But despite her blistering attacks and commentary, she is very sharp, articulate and definitive in her narrations.
