i am so dam happy. about 2 months ago the computer i had died. today i was walking down the street and i noticed someone had thrown away a compac computer. so i picked it up, took it home and what do you know it works-perfectly! for the last 2 months or so i had to go to the public library or go to my family's house to use a computer. now i have a perfectly good computer, that i paid nothing for! i just had to tell the world how happy im am! im so dam happy im ready to make peace with the world (meaning everyone on this board)! i feel like shouting!!!!! i have a mutha-f-in computer again!!!!!!! man, i got lucky!!!!!! |

Yes and yes. Hey, so what kind of computer is it? Is it a laptop? Why do you think they threw it away? Does it work okay? Did you eliminate the germies? LOL! I think you got really lucky to find a nice computer that works!!!

its a compac desk top. sometimes when people get new computers they get rid of their old one, even if it runs fine. i don't know why they threw it away. im using it right now and so far so good. i didn't eliminate the germies, i figure any use i get out of this computer is good. my computer knowledge is very limited, but maybe i'll look into getting it "cleaned-up" a bit. i fell super lucky to have found a computer with out paying a DIME for it.

That's so wonderful. Jehovah God works in mysterious ways. You needed a computer and there was one placed right onto your path.
You should clean the outside of the computer (keyboard etc) with some rubbing alcohol on cotton and q-tips. And maybe when you get some extra cash you can buy a new hard drive to get it back in top condition and that way you'll know it will last for 3-5 more years. Or whatever the life expectancy of the computer is.
I've been online since 1996 and I'd go nuts with no computer. Actually I've been online since the 80's if you consider sending e-mails being online. I had access to e-mails while working for the Army. About four years ago - I switched from SBC to Sage - they were supposedly cheaper but they contracted their service from SBC. I have all my bills set up to pay electronically, at that time I was using the USPS e-bill service. For some reason there was a mixup and Sage didn't credit my payment to my account and they disconnected my phone!!! And I couldn't get online and it was during my Christmas leave and so I didn't have access to my work computer (didn't want to go there anyway during the holidays) and since I sell online I have to constantly check my e's and I had to go to Kinkos twice a day and it was awful. And the dopes at Sage said it would take a week to turn my phone back on and so I just switched back to SBC. What a bunch of idiots. It would have been different if I hadn't paid the bill, but it was PAID!
I've moved since then and now I have the cable connection and sometimes when that goes down I log in thru the phone line as a backup. And I'm never switching to some off the wall utility provider again. Sometimes it's worth the extra couple of bucks to get reliable service. |

We're having a severe thunderstorm in NY as I type this, lightning's flashing all over the place. I probably shouldn't be on the computer just now.

Yes, I have studied with JW when I was a teenager, but I'm not JW. Just call the name of God as Jehovah since that's his name. I also study the teachings of Catherine Ponder. She is the author of THE DYNAMIC LAWS OF PROSPERITY and several other books with similar titles. She teaches that it is our God given right to be prosperous and much of her writings are based upon stories and verses of the Holy Bible. |
