I agree except for "hoo-doo," which is just a derivation from voo-doo, or the Haitian Voudoun. Also note there were plenty of Irish in the South.

BTW, Jazz IS a really stupid, condescending term to describe such a great music....if you want to know the truth, the word is related to JISM!
