My question may be deemed as petty and silly by some readers and I will be the first to admit that that is quite possible. But nevertheless, I have to ask it. Just this past 4th of July, I was at an outing with friends and the subject of Star Jones came up. The consensus among the participants was not very favorable to Star (and no! I said nothing, I just listened). I’ll leave it at that. But one of the grueling questions that everyone asked, was why did Star Jones marry a man who lived a gay life prior to meeting her? Why does she think she can change a man who has had open and ongoing sexual liaisons with other men? Now, I don’t know if any of this is true or not. That’s why I’m asking. But does anyone know if her husband was living a gay life prior to marrying her?
And for the record, I have no personal problems with gay people so I’m not asking this besmirch him or her. But if it is true, why would a woman marry a man who has sexual urges and interest in other men? It’s fine if they are best friends. I have no problems with that. But my belief is that you marry someone with the intention of sexual monogamy. I don’t know if that is possible if a man has had an open homosexual history and then decides to establish a serious relationship with a female. Those urges and fantasies of being with another man simply do not vanish upon saying ”I do” when committing to marriage with a woman. This behavior is the underlying bedrock and tragedy of the so-called "down low“ lifestyle an unfortunate number of black men are living. Where am I going wrong…?

Star Jones dated another man, a chef, who "came out" several years back.
Star and Al's marital counselor was a Black Baptist Preacher who used to live his life as a homosexual, but was "saved" through Jesus Christ and is now heterosexual. So, she's kinda like Captain Save A Fag, she mates with gay men and tries to "change" or "convert" them into a straight lifestyle with her. Why women like her do this? Hmmmm.. She had very low self esteem about her weight and appearance, was very self righteous and bitchy (still is)possibly gay men are more willing to put up with her bossy sanctimonious attitude & don't mind letting her have the upperhand in the relationship then straight more masculine and confident men. |

What were y’all drinking? Virgin daiquiris? Pink Zinfandel’s? Hummmm.
I bet y'all wanted to know this man's "urges" and "fantasies" for very good reasons.
I say, any man that spends his 4TH of July discussing a talk show DIVA and the "underlying *BED..ROCK*" of a gay man's "*OPEN* homosexual history"…should probably have gone with the chardonnay.... That's where you went wrong boo. |

Star looks like a drag queen and her husband can live vicariously through her. He services her in the bed, and she provides him with an affluent lifestyle. Not a bad trade-off, especially since it shouldn't be that hard to cheat on her. She's so self-absorbed she probably doesn't even notice that he's gone for a few hours each day. Meooooow. |

Naw. They were drinking coolers and cold brews. I’m a bourbon, Irish whiskey and scotch man. But I had nothing but cold water.

Ha! Ha! Ha! That’s funny. I don’t think they had the least bit of interest in his gay activities. Besides, the ones doing all the talking were females. As I said, I just listened because I knew nothing of his sexual preference and history. It was amusing at best.

Here one thing few of us consider when questioning WHY a woman would date and marry a gay/bisexual man: Maybe the woman is as turned on by witnessing and partaking in man-on-man sex as MANY men are by woman-on-woman sex. |
