*All of a sudden, Brandy Norwood has entered the three-ring circus sparked last Tuesday by Star Jones Reynolds’ unscripted moment on “The View.”
The 27-year-old singer/actress, currently a host on NBC’s “America’s Got Talent,” will be auditioning for Star’s old gig when she appears as a guest host on Wednesday and Friday of this week, her rep told People magazine.
"These tryouts are for consideration for the permanent gig," another source close to the matter confirms to the magazine. "They plan to have a few people trying out, like what CBS did (before hiring) Craig Ferguson for the ‘Late Late Show.’"
The former Moesha star is enjoying a career resurgence via “America’s Got Talent,” a reality show created by “American Idol” judge Simon Cowell that searches for the next big star across multiple genres.
"’America's Got Talent’ has really opened a lot of doors for me," Brandy tells People. "I want to do a lot more TV."
Meanwhile, “One Life to Live’s” Renée Goldsberry, the first to sit in Star’s chair last week after her exit, will return as a guest host today, while tomorrow’s show will be a rerun and Thursday’s episode will have “All My Children’s” Susan Lucci sit in with the co-hosts Barbara Walters, Joy Behar and Elizabeth Hasslebeck.
In other fallout since Reynolds announced she would not be returning next season, her replacement Rosie O’Donnell has finally commented on the situation by telling blog site Jossip (with an exaggerated wink): “I’m not at liberty to discuss it.”
When asked about past comments about Star’s claim that her weight loss was solely from diet and Pilates, O’Donnell said: “Well you know how much I like her, [but] she thinks she's Beyoncé.”

Please deliver us from Brandy! She is an intellectual lightweight and has a rather annoying personality and such exaggerated mannerisms. But, then, I guess that's what the View producers are looking for to fill the "black" slot. |

Unfortunately, Brandy isn't even on the same planet with The View's cunningly discerning co-hosts. She would get buried on day one with the show's abstract inferences that certainly weren't taught in Ghetto "101". |

first of all i LOVE brandy. second, she may not be the sharpest tool in the shed (the smartest), but something about a NOT so smart girl (woman) is appealing. brandy is cute, well spoken, perky, and CUTE!!!!!!!!!!! after a few weeks of gettiung her television "craft" in order, nobody would question her place on the show. if kelly ripa (who has to be one of the dumbest humans ever, although i think she is SO cute) can make it as a tv personality. i think brandy can be groomed to become a tv star.
brandy, if you read this, know that i think you are a true light (only 3rd to domineque dawes, the most beautiful girl EVER. and rachel true (the second most beautiful girl EVER). i love all three of you. |

Kelly Ripa assumes the role of a dumb blond to provide the yin to Regis' yang, and this takes a certain amount of cleverness. The View already has a cute, perky young girl in the person of "Elizabeth" one of its regular panelists. Give us a black woman with some substance and sophistication. someone who will be able to hold their own against Rosie the ogre. |

Though she's not an especially talented artist and performer, Brandy has managed to remain a presense in the Entertainment world for about 15 years. That suggests to me that she's a good deal smarter and more potent a young woman and business person than some of us might give her credit for.
I think Brandy is, in her own way, is AT LEAST as "intellectual" as those ol' biddies on The View...ESPECIALLY that loudmoutha$$ Rosie O'Donnell. |

BaBa WaWa doesn't even appear on the show regularly. She just puts an appearances now and then. That's how Star was able to to monopolize so much of the conversation. Joy Behar another panalist is as bitch supreme and she often clashed with Star and Barbara. They like a little fireworks on the show; cat fights are good for the ratings. And as far as Brandy is concerned, I don't think they should send a kitten to do a lioness' job. |
