I never really cared for Eminem he was just another tired wigger to me. I was watching Kathy Griffins stand up routine yesterday and she "clowned him". I always thought that he was just a gimmick that Dr.Dre used to sell rap to the white-middle class anyway.

I never really listened to Em in the first place. I can't say I really gave him a chance though either -- but even still, I have no desire to.

He was a pretty good rapper (or I guess MC is the proper word). He was better than a lot of the black ones--they got footage of him in a real free style rap battle going toe to toe with a room full of blacks--males and females--and he held his own.

Moonsigns is a Guy Lombardo fan.

Eminem talked of retiring.

And a lot has been troubling him lately. He tried to commit suicide, started dabbling in drugs again, the second marriage/divorce to his wife, Kim, & close rapper friend got killed.

I think he's trying to end his career before it flops. I'm not sure how successful his last album was.

his last album went platinum and was one of the best selling ones of last/this year. he is one of the top ten rappers of all time, stop ignoring skills... put your favorite rapper up against him and they will be embarassed, end of story.

Not to mention his hatred of black women. Which black men seem to gleefully pat him on the back about.

Rakim could go against him.
Biggie could have gone against him.
Marshall Mathers is good, but not the greatest...

Serenasailor,

He didn't catch ANY heat when that guy dug up that old song of him clearly dissing Black women.

What makes it so bad is that the guy who found the record caught all the heat instead.

rakim is nothing without eric b! his time has come and gone, he was once the best mc ever when he and eric b where no longer a duo then he was just another rapper.

biggie would be verbally torn to shreds by em' ... biggie had a limited amount of substance ... he is the most overrated rapper of all time "the long kiss goodnight" was his response to hit em' up .... he had no battle rapper skills.
as great as jay-z is he couldn't answer naz's ether, his super ugly was not very good, and i know he wasn't going to respond to tupac's assault but even if tupac had been alive he still wouldn't have been able to hang with him.

bb123 a flop is something that vanilla ice did, eminem is like ll cool j, nelly, jay z, tupac, naz, and any other rapper who keeps putting out material that won't ever be as good as there first couple of cd's ... but it will still sell.

j-hood from "d-block". watchout for this rapper. he is straight fire. papoose also. eminem had his day in the sun (like 50 cent), now its time for new mc's to get their shine on. J-HOOD! "tales from the hood" album coming soon!

Dobes,

Eminem is a fine rapper. But in a battle rap, at his peak KRS-1 would eat Em's a$$ alive.

I've discovered a new (to me) hip hop genre: Geek Rap. My favorite right now in theis vein is the Danger Doom album. (Can we still say "album"?)

Other than that, I am over 40 so am partial to the rappers from my generation. But I have heard some new "underground" stuff I like.

Eminem was OK--He was a showman, which counts for a lot: I'll never forget his (MTV? Grammy?) awards show entrance with all those look alikes. Like him or not, that was some fun TV.

The anti-Black women stuff was not surprising. Many Black men's embrace of/lack of concern about it was not surprising either. It's very simple, of course: We need to stop supporting stuff that harms us and start supporting stuff that uplifts--or that is at least neutral.

sofa-king is very different yvette-p. danger doom has a remake of that but with different beats ... the rapper is actuallt the black guy from 3rd base... at least that's what i read from somehwere... i think.

that tape em made was waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay before he even strated even really started rapping, those guys went above and beyond to find that. though i don't condone what was said he was stupid and a kid at that time, i think we've all said and done some stupid shit that wish we could take back. kid rock did something along the same lines too, he made a comment pertaining to his ex-wife who was black... the reason it wasn't such a headline was because he wasn't into it with the editor of source magazine.

Why do you care? Why would you concern yourself with an ignorant low life purveyor of misguided juvenile thug fantasies and ignorance? I’m surprised you would have an interest let alone recognize another ridiculous fool (no different than the black ones) who makes money peddling the most crass and pathetic genre of so called music and entertainment.
