I think she was a awesome actress and very sexy. I think she was also alot prettier than Lena Horne. I didn't know that she was mixed. |

Where do you get your infomation that Earth Kitt is "mixed"? Does she state it any of her biographies? She always distanced herself from black folks, claiming she wanted to be thought of as "raceless", but the pug-nosed Ms Kitt, who always reminded me of a Pekinese lap dog, is most likely just another tawny wanna-be. |

I didn't see Eartha Kitt's name on this list. As much as she wanted to be thought of as somethng other than black, I would think she would have shouted it to the world that she had a white father. She always embellished her heritage with a lot of bloodlines that almost every person of color can make claim to. I still think Eartha Kitt is nothing more than somebody who wanted to be thought of as "exotic". |

the fact that she's mixed is old news...my dad is about her age and he tlaks about her age. so he was the first perosn who i head say she was mixed |

I've probably been around almost long as your father and have been familiar with Kitt's career from the start and it was not common knowledge that she was "mixed." She has written several autobiographies and if someone can find a passage in one of them saying her father was actually white, then I will concede that she is something other than a wanna-be with light-brown skin, less than keen features and nappy hair that she either permed or hid under wigs. |

eartha has become "mixed" fairly recently (within the past 10 years or so). some of us who have been eartha fans for decades know better. lol |
