save darfur? funny, there is a civil war going on there. both sides are at war with one another. the media makes it sound like there are some poor, innocent, helpless "african", being preyed upon by the big bad northern sudanese. its a war, both sides have been fighting each other for years. i personally don't care if they all wipe each other out. if the northern sudanese didn't fight against the people of southern sudan. the southern sudanese would kill and try to take control of the whole of sudan. its kill or be killed. interesting to watch though. |

I can't speak for them all, but there is a large Sudanese community in Atlanta, and I once worked with a Sudanese. The ones I've met seemed so OVERTLY humble, meek, and quiet that they seemed almost completely innocent of anything. If this is a common trait in Sudanese men, I can almost see how others would fight them, because they're an easy target. I feel kind of bad for them sometimes, because it seems that this society may open it's mouth and eat them alive.
Now the world is taking notice only because the Arabs are moving into Chad and doing the same there. |

its an interesting situation in the sudan. the people who are called arabs are dark skin. the government of the sudan is "black" or dark skin but have a arab muslim culture that separates them from the animist or christian or non-muslims in africa. as far as the sudanese being meek, humble, and innocent. both sides are sudanese. they are warring against each other. i don't think its one side targeting the other side. they both target each other. the sudanese in the north are called arabs(im not saying there are not actual arabs in the sudan also) but its clear that they are "black" or "dark skin". the so-called arabs are "black" or "dark skin" people that have an arab culture (islam). i don't know if its fair to say that the southern sudanese are "innocent"of anything. if they had the power, they would overthrow the sudanese government. so each side is fighting to preserve their way of life. but both sides in the sudanese civil war have commited atrocities. one side is not any less responsible than the other side. |

I am a Northern Sudanese who is Half Arab.
South Sudanese have no money, no power, no weapons...and no animosity or hostility...against anyone.
What Lil_ze and so many other ignorant people try to describe as a "civil war"---is in reality----A SLAUGHTER.
It's GENOCIDE.
And before they started the Genocide, the Northerners were putting these people in Slavery. And the Arab Slave Trade still exists and is fed by Sudan and Mauritania.
As you read in my autobiography, I risked all I had aquiring guns and amunition for the South Rebel Army and...for my own parents memory.
There is NOTHING fair or honorable about what the North Arab-financed Sudanese gangs are doing to the CUSHITIC Southern Africans.

Lil_ze, this is where WHITE SUPREMACY comes into play. From what I've read here and in other places, many Northern Sudanese feel that since they're part "other" and not completely black, they're "better" and don't want the fully black Africans around. The Northern Sudanese don't refer to themselves as "Sudanese" but as "Arab" and are doing the Arabs' job of getting rid of the full black people. And no one cared, until it hit Chad.
Kola knows more about this subject, so she can correct me if I'm wrong. |

the whole idea of "full" black people. i really don't know what this means. if the northern sudanese "feel" that they are "better" or "other". thats one thing. but the northern sudanese are "black" or dark. they refer to themselves as "arab", because like i said they have an arab culture and religion. they feel they are different or better because the other sudanese are not muslim. but as far as saying the northern sudanese are trying to get rid of the "full" black people. i don't think this is true. there is a civil war between muslim northern sudanese and southern non-muslim sudanese. but the war is evidence that in the land of africa, there are different peoples that have "dark skin", but may not be of the same race. but to say the northern sudanese are not full black, i really don't know what that means. the northern sudanese, no question are dark, as are the southern sudanese. so what (other than the faith of islam) makes the northern sudanese not "full" black and the southern sudanese full "black"? its a civil war. to say that the southern sudanese have no money, weapons, no animosity, or hostility against anyone. in my opinion is just not true. the southern sudanese (rebel groups, etc) do have weapons. and these southern sudanese have plenty of animosity toward the muslim north. the southern sudanese have no power, because there is an islamic government in the north. they are not muslim, so how could they have any power? if the southern sudanese could they would (and they have) rape, kill, and murder the northern sudanese. as far as this idea of genocide taking place in the sudan, this is also false. were is the evidence of genocide? is see a civil war based on religion. of course there are ideas in the sudan regarding race. but this is clearly a civil war. if the southern sudanese are being "slaughtered", its because they are losing the civil war. i mean are the northern sudanese supposed to allow the southern sudanese to slaughter them? both sides are fighting each other. its a religious civil war. the northern sudanese are no less "black" than the southern sudanese. but the situation in the sudan raises questions about what constitutes being "black". because the northern sudanese clearly are "black". i see no white supremacy present in the civil war in the sudan. |

By OUR standards, Kola Boof is "BLACK". By AFRICAN/SUDANESE standards, she's clearly mixed and lighter to them and if she had their same mindset would consider herself "better" than the non-mixed Southern Sudanese. Get it? |

There are still pure races in this world. There are pure whites, pure chinese, pure japanese, pure autralians, and PURE black Africans, etc.
It doesn't seem like it, espesially in the americas, but HEAVILY mixed race people are still a global minority. Because of that LITTLE BIT of mixed blood, MOST are only WATERED DOWN versions of their ancestors.
I'm not pure black either, but if it wasn't for pure races coming together, my family wouldn't be here, your people (your hispanic right?) wouldn't exist.
We own them our respect. We can't be respectful to one half of our blood while spitting on the other, and that's what alot of mixed race people are doing now. We can't neglect the people responsible for our existence ( all of them). |

Black Arabs are called so....because their fathers (in most cases) are ARAB men, not black.
Sudanese are the blackest people on earth. When you mix WHITE with a Charcoal Nubian, Dinka, Nuer, whatever....you get a DEEP CHOCOLATE baby.
But in Sudan, they are considered "mixed".

you are right mzuri, who am i to dare differ in opinion with the (self) designated expert on ALL issues. not only does she know more about africa than anyone on earth. she also knows more about black american history and culture than anyone else (even those of us who are actual black americans). i lost my head. how dare i actually disagree with a woman who obviously knows more about every issue on this planet than anyone else (it seems like some of the posters on this board believe this also). i see your point, mzuri. anything the (self) designated expert on all issues says should just be accepted, and not questioned. its very evident the amount of respect the (self) designated expert of all issues, has for other peoples beliefs and opinions. just read some of her posts on other threads. very RESPECTFUL. |
