Hello everyone,
My name is Abdirahman Abdullahi, I am 20 years old soon to be 21 and an aspiring writer. I have been coming to this site, this room in particular for a long time and reading everyones animated, lively and sometimes stinging posts. I have just fallen in love with you all, your all smart, talented and just plain amazing people! Kola I LOVE YOU! Your ideas are so unorthodox but deeply honest, raw and uncomprimising. Reading your posts has forced me to look at myself and my community (Somali) with a critical eye. Cynique your amazing! You come off as cultured, intelligent and very wise. I would also like to tell Tonya, ABM and Chrishadyen that thier pretty cool, smart and hilarious. Reading everyones posts for the last couple of months has been quite an eye opener, but I have also learned so much, now I finally have the courage to register as a poster. Can't wait to converse with all of you.

Renata, I'm not really sure haven't been to Somalia since I was about 4/5. I wouldn't be surprised most somalis are muslim hence the arabic names. But surnames change with every generation, as your paternal grandfathers first name becomes your last name, so whats common today could be different in the next generation. |
