From the horse's mouth:
"IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN ARTIFICIAL INSEMINATION, PLEASE JOIN THIS GROUP CLICK HERE. THIS GROUP IS NO LONGER FOR ARTIFICIAL INSEMINATION. ALL MEN WILL BE DENIED.

Welcome to Black women who want Biracial children. The now public restriction group. The purpose to it being on public restriction is to the multitude of men attempting to join the group because they assume that it's an interracial group or a group for them to look for ass. Does this group have anything to do with interracial dating or looking for love? Hell no! It says BLACK WOMEN who WANT Biracial CHILDREN! No where does it says that White men who want to join because they are looking for a piece of ass. You losers better get a life. I don't want no men apart of this group. I designed it for Black women only. So no White women or any non-Black folks should be joining for anything, no matter if you want to join to support it. There are plenty of other groups out there for that purpose. All the White guys want to do most of the time is join to speak their minds on behalf of having biracial children. We are grown women, we don't need you to tell a goddamn thing about anything. It's our body and we have the option and the alternative to do what we please. I apologize if I'm coming off a bit rude and derogatory, but I've had it with people and their stupid justifications on Black women and multiracial children.

P.S. If you want to diss the group, at least come to the owner about it. webmaster@BWWWBC.zzn.com

Black men and women seem to date outside their race for slightly different reasons.

Black men do it for a piece of nonblack a$$. Men don't sit around visualizing what their unborn children are going to look like..

Black women do it because they want pretty children. Most self destructive black girls carry the fantasy of having a baby with hair strikingly similar to their barbie dolls and such into adulthood. They fantasize of how easy the hair is going to comb and how straight hair acts when it has been wet. These women just want a trophy baby. They probably spend all day playing in the child's hair.

These type of women don't even want a white man--when they're screwing them they probably climax through thoughts of a green eyed Alicia Keys and a matching Terrance Howard coming out of their womb 9 months later.

So sad. And the content in the forum is even worse.

The focus is always on black men who date white women..

well there has been several circumstances of black women who only have sex with white men to create 'beautiful' children ::rolls eyes:: Oddly, they will date--and even marry black men. They just don't want his kids.

this of course is probably just too taboo to talk about in mainstream society. My friend told me of a girl who went out, and found the most nastiest, oldest, ugly white man (soon after she graduated from high school)screwed him because she wanted a pretty lightskin baby so bad. And this little girl is 4 yrs old today.

The old white man is no where to be seen.

THAT. IS. JUST. FUCKING. HORRIBLE.

For the record, I have nothing against bi-racial children or relationships. But when it's all for stupid "dumb shit" reasons, it makes me sad and angry.

Insecure "black" folks are humorous at a minimum, but pathetic to say the least. They complain about every God Damn slight on the planet. If you're unmistakably "black", get used to it, and leave the rest of the fuckin' world alone. Better yet, stop trying to scrub the brown off, stop obsessing over what you'll never be, and get a real job.

I'm not giving my personal opinion about this. I just want to pose a question. Kola believes that dark, black skin is the most beautiful. She has also wrote (on these boards somewhere) that, African's hair is a "sign" that they are "God's chosen". With that being said, say a black woman who has a mindset like Kola started a similiar group. Would everyone consider her to be "wrong" and "horrible" like this other group of women? If so, why? If not, why--and what's the difference? Just curious.

Moonsigns,

No she would not be considered 'horrible'.

If you haven't learned by being a member on this forum for quite some time--Black has been deemed as UGLY and INFERIOR for centuries. Our hair is the most unique out of all races, we are the only ppl who have coarse textured hair, and our skin is often darker than other races. Dark skin, and kinky hair is NOT a standard of beauty. It is looked down upon unfairly.

Lightskin, light eyes, and a fine nose is a standard of beauty. it is something that if a black person themselves cannot achieve, they do it for selfish reasons through their children. So that is why that website in particular is WRONG. They're acting like babymaking factory workers for White Supremacy. Procreating white offspring

My point is that she would simply be trying to instil pride in Blackness, which is what we need right now. More than ever.

Do you notice that only Blacks pimp sites like this? Chinese ppl don't do it, Indians don't do it, Whites surely as hell don't...just BLACK ppl.

These Black women focus too much on what their children will LOOK like--how about your child's aspirations and dreams, intelligence, important shit. Everything will be okay as long as your child is considered PRETTY. This is making me so angry.

This behavior is getting out of control. Have Black ppl given up?? Where are our prominent Black leaders to come down on this? It's to the point where Black people don't even care anymore. They act so nonchalant about it and will comment on this behavior as,"well that's her preference. if she wants lightskin kids than so be it". Huh?? What a way to self destruct our race and the self esteem of many black children. These little mulatto children who are a result of superficial reasons will turn into MONSTERS. I'm afraid of what the future will hold

What BS! A group for Black Women Who Want Bi-Racial Children? Can't they just go fuck a white boy, Asian or Mexican and be done with it? Why start a friggen group about it? What sorry trollop would even conjure this up, create a website for it and perpetuate this garbage? I know that whoever it is needs to go jump their sorry a$$ off a bridge or something - and take all the rest of them tramps with her. I sure hope Kola doesn't see this shit, you all know she's going to have a fit.

Not necessarily. You have failed to factor in that there are many (black) women like Kola who don't like white/light skin. There are Africans, I'd say more than less, that think it (white/light skin) is abnormal and ugly.

Jeez, maybe I was just over stepping my boundaries by asking you your views on a particular subject in a message board forum that is designed to discuss Culture, Race, & Economy...

What these Black women are doing goes beyond just 'their lives'. Children are involved...they have minds, thoughts, opinions, the ability to attain power, to hurt, to kill, to hate...etc Their children are going to live amongst other ppl,(me, you, everybody) and whatever bigot & hateful views passed down from their black mothers are most defintely going to affect other black children & ppl.

If these Black women truly do have hateful views of Blackness, then perhaps it is a good thing that they will not be parenting "Black" children.

say a black woman who has a mindset like Kola started a similiar group. Would everyone consider her to be "wrong" and "horrible" like this other group of women? If so, why? If not, why--and what's the difference?

I would not consider this "wrong." (But for the record, I do not consider the women in the initial post "wrong"--Very unfortunate and not my cup of tea, but not "wrong.") In this case the women would be battling against perceived oppression instead of playing into it.

Just my opinion.

Moonsigns,

There are NOT that many Black women who go to the extent that Kola does in thinking light/white skin is abnormal/ugly. Black women who think that way are far and few inbetween.

I wouldn't go as far as saying lightskin is ugly/abnormal--it's just not the ONLY or the MOST beautiful shade in the world.

I have a friends who are from Africa, and over in their country they have the same problems with Black women procreating with White men to birth lightskin babies.

The link I posted is proof that Black women are starting to feel quite the contrary to what you just stated.

The problem is that EVERYONE should think they're the most gorgeous. OF COURSE, White people want children who look like them. OF COURSE, Chinese people want children who look like them. OF COURSE, Indians want Indian looking children. I don't blame them ONE BIT. They find themselves SO VALUABLE and SO BEAUTIFUL, they want themselves DUPLICATED. Just as they SHOULD FEEL! To me, they ARE beautiful and are justified in wanting to see their own face around for a new generation.

But, for black people....

Why is our collective self-esteem so low that we AS A GROUP don't want ourselves duplicated?

What's so bad about "me" that I hope that my children don't look exactly like "ME"?

Why wouldn't we want to see OUR FACES for another generation?

Sorry to get off topic..

but, Mzuri, hey, Dr. Susan Taylor is my dermatologist!!!

http://womenshealth.about.com/cs/dermatology/fr/brownskin.htm

And she IS the best! Her book "Brown Skin" is entirely helpful. In between visits, I refer to it whenever I'm suffering from minor break-outs. I have VERY, VERY sensitive skin. Before seeing her, hyperpigmentation was a major problem for me. She taught me how to cleans my skin in a way that avoids irritation: mild soap, no face clothes, 2x a day, and a gentle cleansing mask once a week. It works! I also go to her office every other month for maintenance/facials. She really is the best dermatologist for black skin. Do you know her?

Moonsigns--this statement is simply UNTRUE about me:

Moonsigns:

Not necessarily. You have failed to factor in that there are many (black) women like Kola who don't like white/light skin. There are Africans, I'd say more than less, that think it (white/light skin) is abnormal and ugly.

Just because I don't want to be the mother of Caucasoids and Mulattos doesn't mean I don't like those types of people's look. They simply aren't my race and I am an African....I'm already GENETICALLY perfect.

Why would I want to age prematurely?

But you're wrong----I actually DO like white skin and light skin.

I'm very attracted, sexually, to SOME white men and especially to Latino and Lightskinned Black men.

I admit--no one can compete with a good looking Charcoal or Chocolate BLACK MAN if he's after me, but in America--that happens less frequently--and over here, Black men hate Black women and Black children to the point that it's impossible to RESPECT Black men.

But like any healthy human being---my own reflection is my favorite.

It's not a thing of who's better looking for me---it's really a thing of who is MY BLOODBERRY (my ancestral relation).

I am not a descendent of slaves--so the "blood" and the family lineage is very important to me---as you pointed out---LIKE MOST AFRICANS. We expect our people to exist and to look like our ancestors.

Otherwise, we have failed.

But, of course, we can see the beauty in SOME white and lightskinned people----although----they age too fast and don't have the richness of body organs that we possess.

*BrownBeauty123...

I agree with everything you've said EXCEPT the comment about Black men not dating women of other race to produce BIRACIAL children.

All my life in this country, I've heard Black men COMPLAIN if a child was born "too darkskinned"--yet I've never once heard a White man complain that his child came out "too white".

I have heard countless Black men say that they don't MARRY dark skinned black women because they dont' want their children to "look like Kunte Kinte"......or to have "nappy hair and black skin" or "African noses and lips".

MANY BLACK MEN make these comments all the time in passing and I notice that most Black Americans don't notice the comments---it's like it's a normal flow of conversation and they move right along to something else.

"The DIASPORA", for instance. They don't even see what hypocrites they are.

I have seen Black men in California flaunt their Mexican-looking child as though the kid was a precious artifact from a museum. They present these children as though I'm supposed to be impressed---because I'm a dark brown black woman. It never occurs to them...the revulsion my African eyes and stomach feel--not because of the child, but because the WAY the "niggerstock" is presenting the child.

I've seen Black men at the basketball courts in California with White and Mexican looking children. Doting and cherishing these kids in ways we have NEVER seen black men treat black kids.

Finally....

Black MEN not only date out of the race 7 times MORE than Black WOMEN....but Black men who date INSIDE the race date the lightest of black women--in hopes of having children who are less black, and this has ALWAYS been indicated.

And black men SEEK OUT "interracial" relationships far more than black women do--although, that is changing.

What FATHERS DO---the children, male and female COPY.

Because like I keep saying...the WRONG EXAMPLE is being set.

Black children watch BET all day...they see every black celebrity (Kobe Bryant, Diana Ross) married to a White person...they see black people calling "Mariah Carey" a BLACK woman...they receive a constant message to ERASE their blackness, to become Mulattos and to covet whiteness.

And things are going to get MUCH WORSE--because #1 the majority of Black Ameicans don't know what a black person IS (everything they believe comes from their White master) and because #2 most of them, deep down, believe in the supremacy of Whiteness and that Black is ugly and "too hard". They WANT to be erased and don't even know it.

Yvette,

What KOLA is trying to do...is give birth to her own image.

That is human and natural. There is no master plan.

God placed me in Africa to give birth to Africans--and until OUTSIDERS colonized our bloodstreams, we were in the image that God made us. It takes no racism or politics.

These women who want BIRACIAL children are not natural or loving or political--they are regurgitating their self-hatred and affirming White Supremacy (because that is NORMAL in this society)--and they will raise these children to believe that they are superior and the slave master's sickness of White Supremacy will continue.

This is no different than Blacks in the 1940's sleeping with retarded people to aquire "Yaller babies wid good hur that look lak Lena Horne"----or men in Africa pressuring their girlfriends to "skin bleach", because of the Hip Hop Videos they watch in Africa now.

CYNIQUE is a perfect example of this type of Niggerstock slave mentality.

Is this web site a joke? These women and their aspirations to have biracial children brings to mind the Imitation of Life movies. The 1930's and the 1950's versions that is. How will these women repond when their children grow up and reject them? Reject them because of the superiority complex they have been brainwashed with from birth? In perusing the site they do-not posit any rationale for wanting boracial babies. Ms. Boof and others are right when they state the white man wants children who look like him along with asians and other non-black people. It appears that black people disporportionately want to lighten up their offspring or want children who are less phenotypically black. This is not to say that one should denigrate 'biracial people', if as Ms. Boof posits the relationships that spawned them are based on mutual love and respect, not 'I want to breed lighter skinned offspring due to my won sel-hatred mentality'. Ifeel that Ms. Boof is genuine in her beliefs albeit at times she becomes impassioned. But I agree with much of what she says. Besides I also have a Trooper's command of explecitives but she could give me a run for my money! I greatly enjoy reading the posts on this board and many of the poster. Whether I agree or disagree with their points of view is a mute point since I am not American I am not wholly familiar with the society there. Sure, you can read extensiely about it but hey, until you've lived there you cannot really know. Anyhow, best wishes in your future endeavors Ms. Boof, and kudos for you're current successes. Regards to everyone else! Keep up the interesting posts!

Well, thanks MONY.

I'm so sorry to be so heavy handed at times.

It's just that this is so IMPORTANT.

And my responsibility here is far greater than the rest of you...because I am "Symbolically" the mother of you. So God expects more from me and much of what happens to everyone here is on my heart and soul.

I feel that if I sacrifice being "liked" and state my principles loud enough, long enough...then in 100 years, it will CATCH ON with "my children" and they'll go in a new direction.

I feel terrible agony at what's been done to the Black Americans. This is a holocaust over here. Brainwashing. ABUSE like none other on earth.

No need to apologize! I fully understand. It can be greatly frustrating when you want to get your point across and people either don't listen, with an emphasis on listen,or don't read and comprehend what one is trying to say. I think people tend to personalize things when one's the intent is to state things as one sees them. In other words, they tend to see things as a personalized attack. Self-centredness is endemic in North America! I have read many of your posts. Take out the explecitives (brought on by people not being able to read between the lines in many instances), and your point is very clear. I think some readers may think you are attacking them initially when this is not the case. I think, and you can correct me, that you are a very metaphorical writer and as such, this may come across in your posts. Sure some of what you state may be threatening to some people. But as I wrote before, people tend to personalize things instead of reading closely and between the lines. I feel you are putting your case across in general and not specifically to any one person. If people read what you are actually saying, they would actually get the gist of what you are saying. What I get from some of your posts is this; Black people should be proud of their dark skin, African features, and highly textured hair. They should love themselves enough to want to procreate their image in the form of offspring. You do-not hate any other race, you just want black people to love their own. You do-not hate biracial people but see them as unwitting victims of the colour complex. Some, not all, are given a highly inflated sense of self in regards to darker-skinned people and this is what you rail against. You are not against interracial relationships if they are based upon mutual love and respect as opposed to a colour fixation of some sort. Your promotion of Africans is commendable. This is anecdotal but most of the Africans I have met have been the nicest most polite people I have ever come into contact with. But in that regard I am being anecdotal! I can-not understand why Black Americans are hostile to Africans. But like I said in my previous post, I don't live in the States so could-not possibly, with any authority comment on that question. But people are, if nothing else complex creatures. I could go on and on about your post and what I have gleaned from them. However, I am a two fingered typer so I will stop here. Again, there is no need to apologize. Besides I find it hilarious when you tear someone a new asshole! Regards!

Good Lord. What a crock. Well, I'm not afraid to get up close and personal. You can employ all of the devious, machinations you are so good at,kola boof, but you will never inspire my respect or will I ever regard you as anything other than a pathetic, insecure, vindictive, obsessive, deluded woman whose innate psychosis, exacerbated by a repressed desire to have light skin, has rendered you mentally unstable. All you represent is a point of view. A point of view whose constituency is "fading". Something you don't realize because you are in denial and your stooges insulate you from the real world. And a few Afro-centric "intellectuals" do not change this. Here's a couple of metaphors for you. You are not the wave of the future, kola nut. All you are is a ripple in the torrent of America's mainstream. You imagine yourself a tsunami but you're nothing but a whirl wind that will soon blow itself away. And puleeze. A hundred years from now, no one but your beige great grandchildren will know you ever existed. LMAO.

Yvette,

People like that shouldn't be having children at all. Period. How can a woman who hates herself so much raise a positive minded child? Nothing good is going to come out of it at all.

Cynique, I find it unusual for a person like you to even bother posting on a message board forum because you have a above & know-it-all attitude about any topic that is posted here. And then you're so quick to snap at someone when it's not even warranted. I wasn't trying to argue with you at all.

And why are you so overly critical of Kola's opinion? Or anyone who happens to like being Black? Because you were quick to call me a Kola clone. Why? Because I am against a bunch of black women birthing babies for the sole purpose of vanity & self hatred?

tsk-tsk, "brownbeauty". Soooo many questions. But your curiosity will just have to go unsatisfied. Unless of course you ask "yourself" why the sneaky "above reproach" kola singles out Cynique to refer to as "nigger stock" when there were other posters who did not villify the women in question. And it's obvious kola nut is taking her meds to keep from going off on the deed end or I would've been bombarded with pictures and profanity. Guess it's all about her trying to cultivate a new image so the soap opera folks won't get wise to her. LMAO.

I'm so bewildered when I read posts like yours Shyfox. And I'm not being facetious I am really trying to understand.

Is it your position that Kola's and others on this boards ideas are akin to the ideology expoused by Nazis that their race is superior to every other group on earth and therefore it is the destiny of every other group to serve them and/or perish.

Do you think that the current Western/European culture communicates to all who live within it that in general Caucasians are smarter, more beautiful, and more moral than every other group?

No. My "master race" building mentality comment was in response to the young women who only want to have bi-racial children. I don't believe that Kola is espousing that same type of idea. She is not saying that others should perish so that black people can live. What I take from her comments is that black is not inferior and has every right to live and thrive as any other group.
There are certain people who don't want to see another generation of black people being born. This is sickness. It's a sin to be ashmed of who and what you are. It's like telling the Creator that He made a mistake when he made you. We are all made in God's image. None are superior.

I don't know how else to explain it. Somethings I think are so obvious that explanations should not be necessary. I believe that racism is a sin. No person or one group of people is superior to another. This type of thinking should be rejected.

People who believe that they are superior to other groups of people do not stop with just thinking that they are superior. They insulate themselves from the "inferior" group. When this does not satisfy them, they then seek to eliminate that which they consider to be inferior. It has been this way throughout history.

It sickens me to see that there are people out there who hate themselves and want to see an end to their own. They have bought into the lie that they are inferior because they do not fit the mold set by the Western/European culture. Who said that they have the right to set the standard in the first place? I believe that we all have things about us that make us unique and wonderful-but not superior. Man is God's creation. He did not state that He made one group superior to another. This type of thinking is man's own invention.

I don't think that I am inferior to anyone because I am a black woman. These women are saying that they can't love their own children unless they look a certian way. What kind of mind conceives of such things. Twisted.

Do these Black women have mixed kids to feel whiter themselves? That's what it seems like. A lot of them adapt the superior attitude that some of these mulattos have. But when they look in the mirror they are still BLACK, with dark skin, kinky hair, and a wide nose. They are not their children.

They don't want to produce anything that looks like them.

They think they're UGLY and inferior.

MANY dark black men are this way, too.

The entire society has relayed this message to them all their lives.

And in this society---ALL WOMEN of every race are treated almost exclusively by what they look like---which is why Obese, ugly White Women LOOOVE Black men so much--it's because a Black man will acknowledge her as a woman, but a white man won't.

A Black man does that of course, because her "whiteness" TRUMPS her ugliness---he's a nigger and she's WHITE.

Walking down the street--whether you're a nurse or a grandmother going to church...MEN speak to you/react to you almost EXCLUSIVELY by what you look like.

A "dark" negroid black woman has to reach "GRANDMOTHERLY" LOOKS before she is truly shown respect and treated "decent" by the community. A yellow woman...is always...treated with more importance than a dark brown one.

Men often date/fuck and DESERT dark women as a last resort in the black community.

A truly Black woman in the U.S. has a better chance of marrying a White Man than a Black one, and that's just the damned truth.

The Black Community WORSHIPS "biracial, mixed" children and people.

SO THIS IS WHY...these women want Biracial children.

Because they're VALUABLE and they're SUPERIOR.

There's three books you need to read to really understand:

"Bluest Eye" by Toni Morrison

"Blacker the Berry" by Wallace Thurman

"Don't Play In the Sun" by Marita Golden

I have to clarify one thing in regards to African women (those who live in Africa) having mixed-children. It's one thing to give birth to a mixed child (with nice hair) and another when this child grows up and become a woman. African men will never marry someone who does not have a father and mother who raised her (unless they have died and people knew about her parents). Most of these mixed race women who were born because their mother wanted a pretty looking daughter work as prostitutes and have daughers who are in the same business. African men will marry a charcoal back woman from a respectable family than a light skinned woman with pretty hair. The will fuck these light skinned women but never marry them if their daddy did not raise them up. Africans do care about your daddy and mommy. Go to any clubs in Nairobi and you will see these mixed race women with nice hair selling themselves because no one wants to marry them.

In some cases - skin bleaching, hair straightening, et cetera - I think it's done strictly because of the pathologies of black men. But I agree: women like the ones on this site are sick; yet I don't vilify black women with these pathologies because, honestly, I don't know, or shall I say, "know of" many. When I meet women who covet light skin and "good hair," I purposely avoid associating with them; and I've been that way since I was a kid, way before I saw it as something political. My childhood friend had a sister who covered her newborn baby in thick blankets during the summer because she didn't want the light skinned baby to get darker. I shunned her every chance I got--I thought she was sick and an abusive mother. It's also easier for me to vilify black men because they are usually out in the open about it. Black women, if they have these tendencies, usually keep it on the down low. I can't tell you how shocked I was to learn that a woman I've known my whole life is that way. I can, however, tell you that I've distanced myself from her - as far as I can since she's a family member - since learning about her sickness. (She's older, "stuck in her ways"--I don't think there is anything I can do to help.) So... it's harder to detect in some women, therefore, it's harder to vilify them.

Tonya, I agree. Black men do have a thing for 'long' straight hair on black women. One of my African American male friends stictly stated that he does not like Black women who wear their hair in it's natural state; i.e kinky afro. Although, he does like braids, the tyzillions (what Brandy used to wear back in the day) but defintely prefers the straight relaxed look. He even spoke of past experiences from girls he dumped because they took out their weave, and styled their natural hair. He was repulsed by either how short, or kinky it was. And demanded they continue to wear extensions or else. What makes it so bad is that, he lives in a household full of 'short, kinky' haired black women. I pointed this out--(i can be very blunt) and he proudly referenced to his 'high yellow' mother who supposedly has long hair down her back, and does not need a relaxer. Which may be true(I've never seen her, since she's lives in another state)--but that still doesn't take away from the fact that I see his sisters, nieces, and cousins running around with short, damaged, and overly chemically relaxed hair everytime I visit him. He holds other Black women up to such standards, when the ones in his family fail to reach them.

As for the issue on hair straightening--

I don't necessary categorize Black women who relax their has as trying to 'attain' white beauty or possessing some form of self hatred. I hate when ppl always bring up the 'hair argument' against black women whenever we speak out against the favortism of light/white women in several aspects of our culture. Considering that it would take a lot more than just a pressing comb to make you ( or at least me) to look white. One would have to go to the extent of a Lil' Kim for me to think they hate their blackness.

Tonya:

I agree. Though I hate (!!) weaves, unless they're short and natural looking. I don't mind wigs, especially if they're a natural color and short. Long hair (real, not fake) is okay but I rarely see black women with long hair that isn't chemically damaged... which, imo, is the worst look in the world. Raggedy dead ends and damaged hair, yuck!--I've gone close to bald three times because of that reason--I refuse to go out like that. Having said all that, I have to admit that ALL of what we do to our hair is a slippery slope. Many Black women of my mother's generation hated perms when they first came out.... Now, as you see, it's acceptable to most. When weaves first came out, Black women, ten/twenty years my senior, harmoniously denounced it. Now, women like Oprah are sporting them Dianna Ross style, as if they've lost they're minds. I predict that in twenty or so years, Lil' Kim's look will be quite normal and acceptable.... Scary, right? Yeah, well. It really is a slippery slope.

I don't necessary categorize Black women who relax their has as trying to 'attain' white beauty or possessing some form of self hatred.

YES THEY ARE---they just don't know it Brownbeauty123.

They're conditioned by their mothers and male kinfolk and the society to believe that ALL PRETTY WOMEN are supposed to have Eurocentric-like hair.

Otherwise, what reason on earth would African-blooded women (who GOD did not intend to have long flowing hair and came from no culture where this was a beauty standard)....why would they be mutilating their hair to make it look European?

Black American women do it for the same reason they used to mutilate their vaginas back in Africa.

Because BLACK MEN won't choose/appreciate their womanhood unless it resembles what he has been taught a "pretty woman" is supposed to look like and possess.

I once lived with a WHITE MAN who insisted that I wear my natural hair---which I did for those 5 years and I LOVED the freedom and acceptance of wearing my natural god-given hair and being pampered and treated like I was beautiful. To him---becasue he already had white people's hair on his own scalp----he wanted to experience a REAL black person.

In the 60's and 70's BLACK POWER MOVEMENTS, Black women wore their hair NATURAL because Black men were saying "Black is Beautiful" and insisting that black women be AUTHENTIC.

For a good 15 years in this country, you couldn't find too many Black Woman with a relaxer.

Just like ALL OTHER FEMALES---black women mold their looks to please their men.

And even though they haven't analyzed why they do it, it's because (a) their Mama raised them to do it---her Mama raised her to do it----But at the BEGINNING of these BLACK AFRICAN women doing this was somebody White saying, "You are inferior and your hair is disgusting."

It's not natural for black women to want their hair straight.

In Mississippi and Alabama, you can't get a black man to sit next to you on a bus....if you have "nappy" hair. Guys in my neighborhood thought I was a lesbian because I wore my hair very short and natural. Anyone that stupid wasn't a big deal to me anyways, so I let them think I was a lesbian.

What the hell would make men feel that a woman wearing HER OWN hair is so UNNATURAL that it's proof she's a lesbian? But her wearing Asian women's hair (SOMEONE ELSE'S) makes her straight?

What if you're just one of the many Black women who like to mix it up a lot? African American women tend to be very versatile, and do not always wear their hair straight. It's just one of the options they choose.

I've worn my hair in braids/relaxers/twists/crimps, etc. For a long time I thought straight hair was boring, and would always wear shoulder length kinky curly hair (real hair, paid a nice grip for it) which was very pretty, but high mainteance. There are even hair distributors who sell African hair (costs a lot) and I've worn that before, and it looked great. I tend to prefer kinky curly hair, over long straight hair which is rather boring. It's something about wild, black tightly coiled curls that exude beauty on a Black woman.
And well curly hair is an African trait...

Tonya, I hate long silky shiny weave on a Black woman with course textured hair. Not only is it easy to detect that it's fake, but usually its so flat and limp. If I go for a straight look, I get the kinkiest hair texture money can buy so that it looks realistic. I shy away from Beauty Supply weave, since those Asians are just profiting off of black women by selling that cheap a$$ hair overpriced hair. It never matches our texture, causes tangles and matting which leaves you at their mercy in just another month or so. The hair I buy is costly, but lasts a year, and is so worth it. And I've never worn extensions past my shoulders--since my real hair is that length. I just think weaves can be beneficial to someone women, especially when your hair breaks off so bad to the state of embarassment. It can help build a woman's self esteem to go out in public, while she's trying to grow her hair out. And extensions are a very protective hair style for black hair which is why I wear them from time to time.

Renata, black men only like short hair on biracial women with fine textured hair a la Halle Berry. There have been Black women who made it quite fashionable to go short like Nia Long, Toni Braxton, and Anita Baker. But of course, it was relaxed. And they were in the position to maintain it, unlike a working Black woman who goes through the rough 'afro' period when its growing back.

But I recall black men who thought Toni Braxton was sexy ass hell, but just wished her hair was longer--especially in the back (remember when it was shaved really short?) I've never heard any complaints about Halle Berry with short hair, if anything many Black men prefer her hair short, opposed to long. How ironic

Doberman,

Ain't nothing like the real thing. But let me tell you, the weave methods of the 21st century are quite sophisticated and even more undetectable than you'd ever believe. So why your boys may think it's all hers, but it probably ain't.

Besides, men say they like the real thing but all that flies out the window when they see Beyonce shakin' her booty with a long blonde indian wig on her head.

How many black women have fine textured "bi-racial" hair....not many. So, basically, they only find short natural hair sexy, on bi-racial girls.

Which makes me wonder if it's the short natural hair they find sexy? Or the fine-haired bi-racial girl? Because I don't get how short hair can only be sexy on a bi-racial girl...unless her hair isn't the issue at all.

I hate hair weaves. Nasty. Black women can grow their own hair long (minus those who may have medical conditions), so I don't see the point of all of this weave crap except to make money for beauty supply stores.

Black women can grow their own hair long. But it's usually a lot easier when you have a protective style, like a wig, or a weave. It's exceptionally hard to grow black hair without anything to protect it. Like for women who have shoulder length hair, breakage can be caused just by it rubbing against the material of your clothing--therefore it will not grow past that length. African hair is so fragile.

Some women's hair have suffered so much damage, that they need a weave. Therefore, I wouldnt' criticize them for wearing it at all.

I don't find weaves nasty at all. If you find a really good method, it can look wonderful. And I particularly do not purchase Beauty Supply Weave, unless its mixed with a much higher grade of remi hair.

i think that black girl on americas top model ...the one who's almost bald is extremely sexy ... but i didn't think india arie looked good when she did that, nor did i think laureen hill look to good like that ... erykah badu was still cute with a bald head ... i need something to pull when my woman is running away from me ... just kidding, but i only think certain women can pull that short hair style ... i don't like to see white girls or asians women with short hair .

yvetep ... i would like to take full credit for the mcmuffin comment but it was from ice cube in boyz in the hood :-) ... but feel free to use it, i do!

There should be some sort of penalty in the form of a stupidity tax on any black person who would perpetuates hatred of their own people and inflicts it upon the unborn generations of blacks.

What the women on that site don't realize is that homologous recombination doesn't guarantee all those "pretty" features they're seeking for their offspring. A person's looks are an accident.
