I appreciate the thought, but next time you start a thread for me please compose something new and original. Please do not post something that has been re-hashed or previously posted. Because I greatly appreciate creativity. And spell my name correctly please. It is Mzuri - with a capital M. This is a very important detail. Okay.
Now - I will say this to you one more time since you seem slow to comprehend. Instead of wasting precious time posting all of your hate-filled negativity, missing out on your much needed beauty rest and elevating your blood pressure - why don't you try to conceive something positive and productive to expend your energy upon.
I mean really - lying awake in your bed at night stewing over what Ms. Kola said to you on this discussion board isn't conducive to your psyche. Anyway, there's something that I would like to know. Are you loved, Cynique? I mean the kind of love that you receive from another human being. If not, that would explain you being so hostile and confrontational. Over nothing. Let me know your situation and I will work with you. If you must know, it is not Missouri but Mzuri, pronounced M-Zuh-Ree. It is a Swahili name that means "I feel good."
And no, this is not a name that Ms. Kola bestowed upon me. How I acquired Mzuri is personal and I don't wish to share the details with you here.
And if you would be so kind as to do me a giant favor. You need to work on your mind, not your body, Kola. You should tone up your credibility and swear off lying and stop feeding your ego and get lyposuction to suck out the obsession you have with skin color. i thought that was a unique way of spelling out missouri too. koala-butt that was a descent use of photoshop, next time you have to use the stamp tool at 20% so that you blend the neck to the body a little better. also press control M and that will allow you to adjust the shadowing. by the way how's that revolution going? |

A series of wrinkle lines might be believable, Kola. But one perfect line of demarcation, as well as the very visible difference in color/shading between the two neck areas would seem to say otherwise.

I used to work for that magazine and they always feature the top writers and everybody in pub. in N.Y. reads it. On this one, our little Psyche ward escapee has a bonafide coup. Then again, her publisher might have paid cash for that spot. I'm not familiar with the reporter and some reporters do that.

Tonya sounds like a very unattractive woman who is blaming her skin color rather than the fact that she probably has ugly facial features and has a nasty attitude. She needs to put her crutch down (poor dark me). I have a wonderful happy life and I am deep dark cocoa. My mother and granny were both light skin women and they treated me like a princess. I was not raised to whine and blame others for my life. I have not had a single problem with black men. They enjoy my outgoing personality, my positive outlook on life and they say that I'm good to look at. So I don't can't relate to the Tonyas and Konyas and Renatas and their gloom and doom circus. Kola Boof is using these people's pain to benefit only one person. Her self.

Bitch, Please.... I have yet to meet a female, in person, who was better looking than me (Black, white, Asian, Hispanic, mixed, whatever). I have the lips and nose that white people pay good money and great pain to replicate. I once hypnotized a guy with my eyes.. simply because I was bored.... I had to break his heart the same night.... It was cruel.... But, hey, he wasn't my type.
Turning heads wasn't that big of a deal to me. It was being surrounded by groups of brothas, on display, each hi-fiving one another, picking apart my features, taking turns, big upping what each found the finest. It was falling asleep on the subway, waking to a car packed full of captivated people, too mesmerized to bring to mind that under no circumstances is it polite to stare. It is having your co-workers and "friends" only be your "friends" when men are not around. It is calling them your friends because no matter where you go, that'll be the only kind of friends you got. It is wishing men would realize that thier compliments are not always sweet--that once they leave the circle, there's resentment that cannot be discussed without more resentment. It's not attending baby showers or other "girly" functions because behind the pleasant smiles and the fake "how are you's".. that same calm resentment says unsaid that you're.. not.. welcome. It's praying that he'd just keep on walking. It is.. GET USED TO IT. It is having your therapist (!) sum it up by saying, " Fuck 'em! get used it, kiddo! That's what happens to beautiful people!" ..............It's not trusting where else to turn.
Enchanted.. please.. you don't know a damn thing about being attractive! Because if you did YOU WOULDN'T HAVE "a wonderful happy life." You'd have a "nasty attitude" TOO... trying to get them niggaz and bitches OUT your face. You'd run out of shit to prove.... They wouldn't be hearing you anyway.

Thank you for your kind words. I have studied with Jehovah's Witnesses, but I myself am not a Witness. I am just a regular Christian of no particular denomination. Jehovah is God's name in the Old Testament. I am a long time follower of the writer Catherine Ponder, who is a teacher of prosperity thinking and living. She teaches that Jesus was wealthy and that it is a sin to live in poverty because the ethers are filled with gold dust, that prosperity is all around us, and all her written prayers evoke Jehovah. Her best-known work is entitled "The Dynamic Laws of Prosperity" and if you ever need to read something uplifting, this is the one. It's not really religious, it teaches you practical things that you can do to change your thinking and improve your life. |

Why don't you just go on about your business, whoever or whatever you are, mzuri. You have the choice to not read or focus on anything I say or do on this board. I am not going to change and it's not because I need love. I came into this world with this contrary, mischievous personality and, in person, I am very nice to people I like and respect. I don't feel the need to try and win any popularity contests on this board and a lot of times the reason I "act up" is because I have been provoked into doing so. I am not hungry for love and my idea of the best of all worlds would be to just loll around, reading, soaking in an oversized tub full of warm scented water, sipping wine or apple martinis, having a personal masseuse, and a personal trainer at my disposal, a personal chef to cook healthy meals for me, my own private movie projection room and a sanctuary wherein I could retreat and meditate and get in touch with my spirituality, an android especially programmed for my libido whose sole purpose would be to appear when ever I summoned "it." I do have all of this on a very limited scale, but what prevents me from doing it as much as I want to is that the "love" my family gets in the way! Too many people are comfortable with their long-held views and can't stand to be contradicted and if I choose to shake them up and am prepared to deal with the flak this results in, then that's my prerogative. So just take your silly little routine and pester somebody else cuz you will have no success here, ding bat. One thing I neglected to mention in my "best-of-all-worlds" scenario was being able enter into the alternative dimension of the cyber world, come to this site, dispense with propriety and have the fun of annoying self-righteous people like you. |

I'm looking for something spiritual, but not too religious, sort of an alternative to the stuff I grew up on, not too far off though. This seems worth checking out. I'm in the middle of reading a ton of books right now (colorism/black history) but I could use a break, especially for something uplifting. |
