African American Pavilion – Book Expo America 2006
I have to say that BEA 2006 in Washington DC was my favorite of the 6 that I’ve attended. The fact that I exhibited certainly helped the experience tremendously. I met so many interesting people, make a lot of new contacts and gathered so much new content; that I’ll be spending the bulk of the Summer integrating it into the AALBC.com web site.
My only disappointment was the cancellation of the BlackBoard hosted evening event. In 2005 I thought it was a tremendous event (http://events.aalbc.com/aapavillion_bea2005.htm), so I sorry not to see it happen this year.
Speaking of content I have a ton of it. Thanks to Thumper’s camera plus Heather the “Literary Dish” Covington (http://authors.aalbc.com/heathercovington.htm) we have about 2,000 pictures available to AALBC.com
Thanks to a partnership with Relentless Content (a business run by Relentless Aaron - http://authors.aalbc.com/relentless.htm) I have a ton of video interviews with people like - Joseph C. Phillips (of Cosby Fame), author of He Talk Like a White Boy: Reflections on Faith, Family, Politics, and Authenticity and the stunning Meta Smith author of The Rolexxx Club This will take sometime to edit down but look out for it – I hope you’ll find it interesting and discover some new books from new authors.

If you were there and I took your photo you can also order prints from the site as well.
As I said I’ll be adding a ton of content to the web site from BEA, next stop the Harlem Book Fair…

Yukio, Heather is not known as the "Literary Dish" for nothing.
