Ol Tyler Perry is really on a roll. He has mined gold from the community of black commonesss and turned himself into a ghetto Bill Gates. Who can't relate to the title of his latest book? And I have a title suggestion for his next book, a phrase I have heard from childhood in regard to how "sanitized" a certain black delicacy is before being put on to cook; to wit: "I Don't Eat Everybody's Chitlins." |

That title is perfect! As far Tyler Perry goes, I can't blame him for capitalizing on his newfound celebrity status. First stage plays, then movies and videos and now books. The man is on fire! |

I agree with you Emanuel - However, one has to question why it takes a dress to make a Black man "good, clean" money in Hollywood? There is always the pimp thing - which from Hustle and Flow - which I totally hate. But Perry in the dress - with a good wholesome message about responsibility, family and God is refreshing -- the dress bothers me - but than again the characters he is portraying have been the cultural caretakes - women to begin with - does this make sense to anyone else - peace |

I don't believe Black men have to wear a dress to make good money in Hollywood. That's just Perry's thang. Just look at Denzel Washington who is an Oscar-winning actor and a director or Will Smith, Taye Diggs, and more. None of these leading Black men have to wear dresses to make it big. Plus, white actors have their share of dress wearers too like Dustin Hoffman (Tootsie) and Robin Williams (Mrs. Doubtfire). I don't believe it has anything to do with race. Hollywood and the box office just believe a man in a dress in funny and Tyler Perry took advantage of it. |

The biggest difference I see is that those white actors you mentioned did one movie, where as Perry has done several plays, two movies and now a book. This was just one role of many, as with the white actors, as oppose to this being a recurring role for Tyler. He's been riding this horse for a while now. |

I love him!!! He's opened the flood gates for alternative movies in Hollywood and is giving a voice to a wider audience otherwise ignored by LaLa Land. Bravo! |
