This could be a glimpse of the future.

LAREDO, Texas — The final chapter has been written for the lone bookstore on the streets of Laredo.
With a population of nearly a quarter-million people, this city could soon be the largest in the nation without a single bookseller.

For a long time we had none in our downtown section.

What surprise when I think it was year before last a majority of Americans had not read even one book?

What surprise in a nation that might elect Sarah Palin President in a few years.
