Hello All,

I know that you all aint into Ella Fitzgerald like I am. You all know she's my number 2. Verve just released a new box set of Ella at a bunch of concerts she had in LA in 1961 titled "12 Nights in Hollywood". I know some of you don't know nothing about a singer putting out concert albums, not when those doing it today lip sync to their own record. I'm getting my copy of 12 Nights next payday. But, here's an article on it, check it out: http://www.nytimes.com/2009/11/29/arts/music/29ella.html?pagewanted=1&_r=2&hp.

Hey Thump, while you're playing your Ella or waiting for your Ella, I have to play that same Ledisi (Christmas) that you dropped on me last year. I need another suggestion. I am cool with Ledisi but if you have another in mind, please let me know.

Hello All,

Carey: I have a few suggestions for Christmas music. I recently downloaded two that I love. They're both old, so you may already have them, but if you don't, check them out.

1.) Anita Baker's Christmas Fantasy. I love this CD! First it starts off with a ragtime version of Frosty the Snowman. Second, she does a very nice version of the Charlie Brown Christmas song, Christmas Time is Here.

2.) Take 6's We Wish You A Merry Christmas. This one is off the hook!! From the first cut of We Wish You a Merry Christmas/Carol of the Bells, Let It Snow to the last cut. I can't believe that this CD isn't played all the time as a classic.

3.) Speaking of Ella Fitzgerald, make sure you have Ella Wishes You a Swinging Christmas. This happens to be one of the best Christmas album ever!

4.) Nancy Wilson's A Nancy Wilson Christmas is also a very good Christmas CD as well.

Hope this helps.

Hey Thump, I didn't know you was up on Take 6?

Thanks for the recommendations.

Hey, I was listening to Etta this morning... Sunday Kind Of love. You don't know nothing about that. Anyway, I was wondering if she has a Xmas recording?

Hello All,

Carey: I don't even know why you went there...I don't know nothing about Etta and Sunday Kind of Love. Hell, when you know I TOLD YOU ABOUT ETTA JAMES!!! I had to hip you to At Last, All I Could Do Was Cry and all of Etta's other hits. I had to enlighten you when you was just as happy playing with your toes sitting in a dark room until I brought you the light! Why you playin', I swear I don't know.

Anyway, Etta does have a Christmas album out. It's been out for several years now titled, 12 Songs of Christmas. I like it.

Okay Thump, I understand. See, I was playing Etta this morning because my mother thought it was hers and told me to bring it back. She's old, like you, so I just decide to let her have it. But I had to play it one more time.

I know old people forget much of their past. But I was hoping that when you started losing your mind or drifting back to your early years, that you might stumble across a little piece of reality.

While I was sitting with my mother, I thought about you. She loves telling stories. See, I had a friend with me, so she was really on broadway. It didn't take long for me to realize that many of her stories were like multiple choice question. I mean, she randomly threw in parts of the stories to make my friend laugh.

So I understand.

Thanks for the tip.
