Thumper's corner is being upgraded for the first time in 7 years. This change is actually part of a much larger effort to revamp the entire AALBC.com website. The changes will be expansive both on the front end (what you all see) and on the backend (the stuff that make things work). I'm calling the whole effort AALBC.com 2.0. I hope to have eveything done by Thanksgiving 2009. The news discussion baord will be folded into AALBC.com proper. I'm investigating ways to migrating the old content into the new application. If that fails I'll just maintain this site archival purposes (actually I'll do that anyway). The new discussion board software utilizes a bunch of useful tools. Everything from RSS and XML feeds to intergation with facebook and avatars. You can preview the new discussion baord software here: http://a7769.ipsdemo.ipslink.com Again this is just a demo; the final site will have the AALBC.com branding (color scheme, etc), and many more additional features. They may display the last 5 or so comments and then first in - first out. There's still a link similar to what you presently have on your home page but a person doesn't have to go there to see what's going on. I don't know how important your discussion board is to the overall scheme of things, and if it's insignificant, I could see how this feature wouldn't be something for you to consider. That feature is an effective calling card to lurkers. Someone who wouldn't otherwise visit a discussion board might see a conversation that tweeks their interest. | ||

Hey Troy, I don't think Essence is showing their bestseller list online anymore. Why not post the bestseller list here and then provide links to purchase through AALBC to increase commissions? Their list is very popular. I'd also like to see more writer resources (literary agents, calls for submissions, guides to self-publishing etc.) and job postings related to writing (editor jobs, freelance writer jobs, etc.) Thanks for listening. | ||

Emanuel why does Essence post MY bestseller's list. Actually if they are not posting it, I'm not sure how I would obtain it. But it is a good idea. I'll look into it. Thanks. Cagedbird actually most of the stuff you desribed is alreay on the web site (AALBC.com). But those areas will get an overhaul as well. I have content that I have not posted simply because I did not have the platform and t was difficult to maintain. (Remember it is just little 'old me doing everything) Cynique, sorry about that. Just suffice it to say the site will be much better (smile). | ||
