Hey Self-Publishers, I self-pubbed a couple of books. I hired a graphic designer to design the covers, and they looked great. I did the internal pages myself by typing them in MS Word and converting the files to PDFs. I wasn't pleased with how they look though. They had no pizazz. I'm considering self-pubbing another business title but I want to really do it right this time. What can I do to make the internal pages zing by using electronic resources? I don't want to work with a vanity press. |

Get a graphic designer or somebody who does this to help you. |

Yeah. The person who did my covers does not do internal pages, so I will have to find someone. I was just wondering if there were any tricks out there from personal experiences. I used software to convert the Word files to PDFs after changing the margins and spacing to standard lengths. Some traditionally-published books have internal graphics, pics, etc. that make the books stand out. I wonder if that can be accomplished electronically or if you must typeset to get that look. Thanks Chris. |
