Gosh, it's sort of sad to read about events like this. Well, living in a small Midwestern town has it's advantages but we miss so much. If I may ask, what would an event like this cost to attend? Also, is there a schedule of events? The last time I visited NY, NY, manhatten, my hotel cost around $300.00 a night. I am sure that has gone up? What would you recommend for a poor boy that could maybe dig in his pockets for about $400.00 ....or less? |

Troy that's why you're the webmaster; you do what you do so well. All my questions answered at the click of a mouse. This looks very tempting. If I had a friend that lived in Harlem, I could cut my accomodation cost by ....lets see 2 x 250 x 14% x tipping x unknowns = approx 800 bucks AND get next to the A list people. He wouldn't have to tell anyone that he knew me. Notice I said 2 nights. Wouldn't want to wear out my welcome ;-). |

Hello Mocha Mint, I did notice that the Oracle Group had something to do with this. (saw your e-mail address on other page) Now, if I send you an e-mail will it fall in a large basket of no return like that of Troy Johnson's :-). I have a lot more questions. Well, are you going to hug me like you know me if I come out? Seriously, I do have more questions. For instance, hotel rates are different for many reasons. I can do a five star or a 3 star hotel and it's generally not about the money. It's about safty, comfort and cleanliness. Sometimes my choice in hotels depends on the closeness to the event, along with the other things I've mentioned. I don't have to Hob-knob with the rich and famous but I don't want to take 4 cabs to get out and get back. |

Mocha is there going to be a journal or something AALBC.com can advertise in? I emailed you this morning but the email was rejected by your server: The following recipient(s) cannot be reached: mocha@theoraclegroup.net on 6/24/2009 9:36 AM There was a SMTP communication problem with the recipient's email server. Please contact your system administrator. Carey, as much as I would like to accommodate you. I have two teenage daughters living with me -- I'm not sure they'll be able to keep their hand off you! |

Yeah, you're probably right *lol*. I like the way you put that *wink*. Here's another version. Carey, I've read your stories and there's no way in hell I would let you come anywhere near my daughters or my neighbors or my plants. I'll see you in the lobby. But Troy, don't be surprised if I tap you on the shoulders at the event. Yep, don't look silly when I punch you in your nose for calling me a rabbid dog *lol*. Stop it Troy, remember you're the webmaster and webmasters can't kick old men. |

Sorry I didn't see this down here. No Troy, through it all, my costs were a factor. There are many cities in which I can cut my cost by calling family or friends, NY City is not one of them. I don't know how that happened. Aside from lodging, NY city is not an easy place to get around. I've driven there a few times but that was when I was younger and could stand the ride. Even the cost to park can get in your pocket. When I go to a city I like to move around and go to places outside the main reasons I am there and this trip was just not working. What did you hear about the turnout and the overall success of the event? |

Interestingly Carey, I heard nothing about the event. Other than Amiri's griping about not being invited -- I posted a video of this elsewhere on the board |
