Everyone knows how much Kola Boof loves
Malcolm X.

I was startled when someone
sent me something he said...only they had
thought it was written by Kola Boof.

Malcolm X said it best:

ďThey projected Africa always in a negative light: jungles, savages, cannibals, nothing civilized. Why then naturally it was so negative [that] it was negative to you and me, and you and I began to hate it. We didnít want anybody telling us anything about Africa, much less calling us Africans. In hating Africa and in hating the Africans, we ended up hating ourselves, without even realizing it. Because you canít hate the roots of a tree and not hate the tree. You canít hate your origin and not end up hating yourself. You canít hate Africa and not hate yourself.

You show me one of these people over here who have been thoroughly brainwashed, who has a negative attitude toward Africa, and Iíll show you one that has a negative attitude toward himself. You canít have a positive attitude toward yourself and a negative attitude toward Africa at the same time. To the same degree that your understanding of and attitude toward Africa becomes positive, youíll find that your understanding of and your attitude toward yourself will also become positive. And this is what the white man knows. So they very skillfully made you and me hate our African identity, our African characteristics.
You know yourself ó and we have been a people who hated our African characteristics. We hated our hair, we hated the shape of our nose ó we wanted one of those long, dog-like noses, you know. Yeah. We hated the color of our skin, hated the blood of Africa that was in our veins. And in hating our features and our skin and our blood, why, we had to end up hating ourselves.Ē

But seriously, youre right, he said it best, and no one has said it better. You ,on the other hand, gave it a woman's touch. :-)

Kola.. to be honest with you.. when I prepared myself to first hear you speak, I expected you to sound militant like Malcolm, or at least Sista Soldier (whom I also adore). I was surprised that you were so normal. Your words make you seem militant.

I am not a racist. I am against every form of racism and segregation, every form of discrimination. I believe in human beings, and that all human beings should be respected as such, regardless of their color."

Hey Tonya,

You're not alone.

EVERYBODY who saw my video or has seen me in television interviews....are always so STUNNED that I'm so softspoken and girly.

Even on these boards, when I'm blasting someone---it's with a very soft calm voice. I'm not really a "POWERHOUSE" type.

And I'm exceptionally feminine and sensuous (because of Nilotic culture).

It's another reason the MEDIA doesn't like me....they say my "demeanor" doesn't go with my rhetoric.

But what they really want is a BLACK MILITANT "hard woman" they stereotype and say.....you see, she's unattractive and dykish, she's emasculating, etc.

I turn men on while I'm telling them off and they don't like that.
