Someone emailed this to me this morning. I just LOVE it
---because it's written
by a BLACK MAN who's fed up.

BM

Most of you know, if being honest that a good deal of Black people struggle everyday with internal racism and colour complex issues. Some even try to ensure that their children are not born the same colour that they are and will actively pursue a white woman (if they cant get that, an almost white woman) to guarantee that they have a “pretty” baby. You know what I’m talking about. Light skin, ‘good/coolie hair’ green/ blue eyes , ‘straight features’ etc……As a result, ideas are created to justify being with a white person, even though this justification is not necessary in the true sense, but is vitally important if Black people are to remain comfortable in their community.

Well fuk comfortability and fuk justifications I am going to the grassroots. I am letting black men who choose white/almost white women over black women know that they are sick, psychologically unstable and need serious counselling. More fyah!

The choice of partners by black males reflects a corrosive lack of self-respect and is rooted in slavery. From Emmett Till to Marcus Dixon, from O.J. Simpson to Kobe Bryant, Sol Campbell, Thierry Henry, Kofi Annan, Trevor McDonald, Frank Bruno, David Lammy MP. Why is it that prominent black men so often choose white partners? Some will balk at the question - and of course, who a person finds attractive is entirely a matter for them. But while that is true on an individual basis, when you look at the bigger picture the question is valid: for while most men choose a partner of the same race or cultural background, black men are much more likely to marry a different-race partner. Black men have historically risked their lives, careers, and freedom in exchange for the attention of a white woman - any white woman.

When black journalist David Matthews explained in an Evening Standard column (British National Newspaper) why he dated only white women, predictably it wasn't because he thought white women were "better". It was simply that black women had so much "wrong" with them.

Justification? The black woman’s fault? A more plausible answer would have been the truth. The Black man’s inferiority complex. “Out of the blackest part of my soul, across the zebra striping of my mind, surges this desire to be suddenly white. I wish to be acknowledged not as black but as white...who but a white woman can do this for me? By loving me she proves that I am worthy of white love. I am loved like a white man...I marry white culture, white beauty, white whiteness. When my restless hands caress those white breasts, they grasp white civilization and dignity and make them mine..."

The white woman is psycho-socially conditioned to fear the Black male and the Black female. One can take her man the other her humanity, and the white man is the sheriff who protects her from both. This highly charged sexual climate creates insecurity in white women, confusion in Black men, resentment in Black women and power for the white man...

Down through the ages the more the Black woman was soiled, the more the white woman was deified. And so the white man’s relationship with the Black woman, and his protection of the white woman, created an appetite of lust within Black men, many white women rationalize their jealousy of the sexual relations between their men and Black women by calling them “dark temptresses” that “seduce” white men. A notion that overlaps into the mind of the Black male. Consequently, Black women spend much of their lives vainly fighting for acceptance. They often end up adoring those who don't really much care for them, giving every last bit of themselves to men who come with nothing more than slight interest.

And so Black women embark on an epic search for something that cannot be found, while the Black male and many others benefit from all she has to give. Too often she becomes part of a half-ass relationship that caters only to the whims of her ‘man.” In the end, as Ken Singleton in "Broken Silence" observes, many Black women “tolerate poor treatment hoping that if they hold out long enough, the negative behaviour will stop... Women feel unworthy of love and stay in abusive situations trying (desperately) to make themselves more appealing..."

The history and circumstance that has soiled the Black woman’s image continues to direct the Black man’s mind away from that desperate sight toward that which he has longed to be recognized by. His goal is to be loved and accepted by those he was designed to worship, in order for his dignity to triumph. He sees himself as a historic failure

Black Americans and Black British (largely that of Caribbean decent), perhaps more than anyone else, carry a heavier psychological burden. The mental damage of centuries of bombardment with Euro-American standards of beauty has had tremendous impact on how we view ourselves within what is essentially an alien White culture. During chattel slavery (and afterwards) we were brainwashed into thinking of anything naturally Black or African as ugly, repulsive or inferior while considering everything White, European or Caucasian as appealing, attractive and desirable. This is probably most noticeable when it pertains to Black women and their hair. Few things generate more anger and passion among Black women than their hair. Some Black critics say that women are in a frenzied search to shed the ancient racist shame and stigma of "nappy hair=bad hair" by aping White beauty standards. Others say that, like many non-Black women, Black women are helpless captives of America’s fashion and beauty industry, which is geared to making them more attractive and pleasing to men. Many Black women counter this by saying that they merely seeking their own identity or trying to "look better’

But what is happening now is not the result of random, individual choice but a manifestation of a rejection of black women. Sure, you hear all the cliché rhetoric about "I don't see colour" or "love is colour-blind", but not even the person saying it believes a word of it. The unfortunate bottom line is that most of these "brothers" think their sistas are an inferior product. What makes the situation galling is that rather than accept that's how they see things, the men try and come up with a thousand reasons why black women are their own worst enemies.

Dr Grace Cornish, psychologist and author of 10 Good Choices That Empower Black Women's Lives, knows the reason for the self-denial. "A lot of black men struggle to reach a certain level, and they never feel they have reached the level of their white counterparts," she says. "They feel they need a white woman as part of that lifestyle. These are the ones who have a backlash against black women. They have not dealt with their own internal anger. Instead, they see the opposite sex within their own race as the problem."

Some would argue that because so many images in the modern world portray beauty and status as being manifested in Europeans it is not surprising that black men will have white partners. But if that's the explanation, why, compared to black men, do relatively few Indian, Chinese or Pakistani men choose white women? After all, they are exposed to the same Eurocentric cultural bias as Black American and Caribbean males. No, your partner-choosing habits have more to do with self-loathing and lack of sista love. He finds it hard to connect with the Black woman, outside of sensation, and is ashamed of her; she serves as the symbol of his failure. By giving birth to him she represents the synthesis of his circumstance, the precious gift of life once cherished now become a curse, her womb a graveyard as life became death. As a result, he will chase the white woman to the ends of the earth, and will stop only when he catches his mind...

Spoken as a true humanitarian, please you are sick. Your mind is still on the slave field. You need help, get counselling. Black Men went from being Zulu’s, Ashanti, Mandingo, Wolof, Dagon, Shona, Yoruba, Housa, etc warriors and a fearless people of the Lion's of Judah to self hating disgusting no pride powerless confused empty shells. How can anyone love you if you do not love yourself? You think the white woman does? Racism and self-hatred has allowed us to see ourselves as a people with no identity as our beings are de-valued by this society that values white-skinned.

Another Black Man posted
this message several days
ago on the Terence Howard Thread:

Black people especially black men:

Life is hard enough why make it harder by marrying a white woman.

The issue that I have with black men and black woman having relationships with white people, is the simple fact that we still face racism on a daily basis and it does not seem to be fading away as some people would like to believe.

Have you noticed and read when blacks reach perceived levels of 'status' that they like to state 'I can not find a compatable black woman or man ?' but then how quickly it is that they find a white person.
Wake up fools wake up - if you open your heart and mind then that beautiful black person shall find you to give true happiness - white people do not undertand the level/s of deep complexity that we are made of and never will.

Question to Terrence: Brother when you listern to music do you hear or feel it? Black people feel music my brother.

For all of you that come from the belly of a beautiful black woman; who understand and have read our black history and I mean 'understand' then you should have no doubt in acknowledging the importance of maintaining our heritage and 'loving our black mothers ' through marrying and loving black woman.

We must love ourselves before we love others - I do not understand why so many blacks show self hate through this 'crazy behaviour' do they really belive that they will be accepted / respected and loved by marrying white people? the answer is NO.
Have you seen the way that white men look at black / white couple on the street ? life is too short for added stress.

My mother is black and I shall love the black woman as they are the ONLY treasure in the chest.
As most of us have seen - we have watched our mothers struggle financially and work long hours for usually white people - Let lightning strike me down if I would now lay down with the same 'thing' that has caused me and my people grief for many many years.

Don't misunderstand me we all have friends from different cultures <not> but I prefer my friends to be with partners from their particular culture - which they are. This creates interesting topic for discussion!!!

Respect to you beautiful black men and women that know the beauty of yourself and our ancestors - I praise you all.

Love to you all.

Kola,

I'm noticing that A LOT of brothas are starting to complain about this; and I mean A LOT! Thank you, Jesus! Thank you, Lord! Because that's EXACTLY what it's going to take.

From the email:
"When black journalist David Matthews explained in an Evening Standard column (British National Newspaper) why he dated only white women, predictably it wasn't because he thought white women were "better". It was simply that black women had so much "wrong" with them."

I read the article in question. The email is lying. Firstly, it is obvious in the column that David Matthews does not date "only" white women. Secondly, he does talk about why he thought white women were better... not just about what black women had wrong with them.

From the email:
"many white women rationalize their jealousy of the sexual relations between their men and Black women by calling them “dark temptresses” that “seduce” white men. A notion that overlaps into the mind of the Black male. Consequently, Black women spend much of their lives vainly fighting for acceptance."

So let me get this straight: 1) white women are jealous of how black women seduce their white men, 2) so white women call black women names, and 3) black women begin to believe the names that white women call their black women.

Sounds like a load of bull. If black women are so effective at seducing white men away from their white women, then how come they're unable to seduce black men away from white women? Please improve your quality of argumentation if you want to discuss such serious issues.

From the repost by a black man:
"The issue that I have with black men and black woman having relationships with white people, is the simple fact that we still face racism on a daily basis and it does not seem to be fading away as some people would like to believe."

There's a lot less racism today than there was 100 years or 50 years ago. It's not gone away, and it'll never go away. Just read the stuff on this page and you'll see that black people can write negative things about white people too. However, inter-relationships between different races is probably one of the best ways to make the different races get along.

I think that black women need to work on physical appeal first and then worry about how they're portrayed by the media etc. Men (at least non-black men) like women to be fit, slim/trim, active etc... 80% of the black women out there are over-weight... part of the reason why Asian girls are in demand is because they're usually slim/trim... (now again, note that I'm not saying that EVERY Asian girl is slim/trim. But a large proportion of them are. While a tiny proportion of black women are slim/trim).

Hi, Zuriburi!!! Don't feel down :-)

Lately I've been doing some research and as part of it, I decided to stop and casually converse with some of the black folk I run into as I go about town. I'm talking about brothas who stand inside delis and out on the corner, black men and women at the bus stop & on the "L" or the broad street subway, sistas at hair salons & beauty supply stores, brothas at barbershops, and poeple waiting in line to get a cheesesteak or to cash their checks, REAL BLACK PEOPLE!.... And the thread is all the same: WAKE THE PHUCK UP!

So don't be down -- we're on our way!!!

Two or three centuries? Uh-uh, no way!

Why is the light-skinned man who wrote this article ranting at everybody else? He needs to direct his wrath at his parents who showed their preferences when they mated, which is why he looks the way he does. His words have a hollow ring to them and he sounds like somebody who needs to prove himself, so he recycles the same old arguments we've been hearing ad nauseam and then sits back and waits for everybody to say "right on." Obviously, he is in denial about his multi-racial bloodlines.(I'm always suspicious of light skinned militants because of the "big fish in a little pond" syndrome that I have detected in many of them, meaning that they like to shock people and are secretly enjoying the approval and admiration of those dark-skinned blacks who are pleased to have them on their side.)

Cynnique, maybe the man just doesn't mind being black? In this country (or at least in the south), lighter skinned people are MORE likely to be accepted by white people (if they're willing to say they have white blood). If that's really what they want. He doesn't seem to be looking for that.

(Never even mind that what he's saying is the truth.)

Funny that the author mentions Kofi Annan, a Ghanaian man, raised in Ghana, who (as far as I know) is not a descendant of blacks enslaved by Europeans. How could Annan's choice to marry a white woman possibly be "rooted in slavery?"

Colonialism in Africa had very similar effects as slavery in the United States---and the enslavement of Africans brought shame on all Africans.

Modern day saturation of WHITE MEDIA is causing West Indians and Africans to "bleach" their skin.

Kofi Annan, and many African men and women like him, believe that marrying whiter is marrying better.

In North Sudan, the Nubians who want so desperately to be accepted as "Arab"---you see them on t.v. calling themselves "Black Arab"----will go to Turkey and take the lowest White prostitutes off the street and marry them...to mix and get a dark chocolate baby.

This pathology is not American.

ALL BLACK PEOPLE are suffering from self-hatred---but it's far worse is many places like the United States, Great Britain, Sudan and South Africa.

I believe ALMOST ALL African countries were colonized with the exception of Ethopia! Even SOME Arab countries were colonized and speak FRENCH!

I believe Anonymous is nothing short of a person INTERRACIALLY MARRIED or some wacko that considers themselves MIXEDRACE!

These types are always INSISTING Blacks do not have the right to exist and have their own community! Most of all, the most INSULTING thing of this all is that I've never ONCE heard these idea suggested to anyone but Blacks. Jews are allowed to marry Jews and stay seperate from as many people as they like (other Whites included). So are Arabs, latinos , Indians and Asians! Only Blacks are warned that they are not EQUAL until they are completely gone!

Renata, I never meant to imply that the article writer minded being black. In fact, I'm sure he enjoys being "black", especially since, in my opinion based on my long-time observations, his speaking out against mixed marriages earns him the kind of reaction condescending light people secretly like to get from admiring dark people.

Although ALL of Africa was colonized....the effects were much worse in some areas than in others.

For instance, slavery in the West Indies did not separate the people from their Africanness....the way it did in the United States.

Spanish and Italian colonies were the freest in Africa.

German, Dutch and Belgian colonies the worst.

Liberia was basically colonized by FREED mulatto Black Americans and was one of the worst.

Cynnique, you read my post wrong. I said he DOESN'T mind being black, and that's being confused with him trying to get acceptance from dark skinned people. Not all light skinned people feel the need to point out or even accept white blood.

He sounds like he was possibly raised like me, that he's black just like every body else in his family, and just because he doesn't look like another relative doesn't make him different.

Not every light skinned person has pointed out to them how different they are from their dark skinned relatives. So to him, he probably DOESN'T realize he's light skinned, until other people point it out to him.

I didn't know I was light skinned, until I went to school, and heard it from kids whose families looked JUST LIKE MINE. (Which said a lot to me about how they treat their family members based on skin color.)

I think the only thing the West Indians had going for them were that they were the MAJORITY! White people were not "nicer" in any way in those countries. Its quite possible that many Blacks in the West Indies during slavery time had little to no contact with Whites (because there were so damn many slaves) so had LITTLE European influence at all!

I also don't believe West Indians value Africa anymore than any other person. Mind you, West Indian men outmarry more than any other Blacks on the planet! One does not lose cultural values in 1 generation if that was what he or she was taught in the first place! And just like in Africa there's dark brown vs. Black skinned war all over the West Indies.

I agree that there's a definite link between the two. What I question is the sort of historical psychobabbble the author cites as being the root of black self hatred. For example:

The white woman is psycho-socially conditioned to fear the Black male and the Black female. One can take her man the other her humanity, and the white man is the sheriff who protects her from both. This highly charged sexual climate creates insecurity in white women, confusion in Black men, resentment in Black women and power for the white man...

I dont see how this stuff has any relevance TODAY, if it ever had any relevance to begin with.

Kofi Annan, and many African men and women like him, believe that marrying whiter is marrying better.

Why do you think that is?

In North Sudan, the Nubians who want so desperately to be accepted as "Arab"---you see them on t.v. calling themselves "Black Arab"----will go to Turkey and take the lowest White prostitutes off the street and marry them...to mix and get a dark chocolate baby

Here's the thing...blacks in Sudan live in a multiracial society in which one's status is largely determined by phenotype--the whiter (more Arab) the better. To bare a fully black child in that society is to place it in a deeply ingrained caste system in which it will be ranked at the very bottom, and despised by the majority. Because blacks have little political or economic power in this society, being ranked at the bottom of the caste system is something that has very real consequences: it limits opportunities for employment (and thus sustenance) and social mobility. However, the Sudanese black contemplating parenthood has a few options to improve life for her future offspring: she can leave multiracial Sudan to live in an all (or majority) black society, where her black child is not likely to be heavily discriminated against because of its phenotype; Or she can remain in the Sudan and hope to find a lighter skinned mate to produce a lighter child who will inherit a higher position in the caste system than herself.

Many black Sudanese find the latter to be the most "sensible" thing to do. Is it an honorable decision? No. Is it a decision that is often ecouraged by feelings of self-loathing? Of course. However, this world is a brutally competitive place and people are wired to seek advantage wherever they can, so I don't find it suprising in the least.

blacks in Sudan live in a multiracial society

NO, they do not.

Dinkas live in their own land...Nubians were forced out of the Nuba valley, but they used to have their own section....Nuer people live in their own land.

Only the NUBIANS are in a position, because they live in the NORTH....where they feel they must become Arab.

But no matter how mixed you are---you are "ABEED" (niggerstock, slaves).

You could put the state of TEXAS in SUDAN 5 times---that's how big it is.

The Arabs decided to sell the oil in the SOUTH (Dinka, Nuer, Shilluk Cushitic land) and wanted to exterminate these people to make money from the OIL.

To get power, they began PROGRAMMING the "North" black people that they are really "Arabs"....just as Black Americans were once programmed to believe that they were "niggers" and called themselves that for 400 years.

The North Sudanese Blacks are mostly from Nubian and Arab mixtures---I am one----and they are raised to believe that they are superior to BLACK AFRICANS (the SOUTH).

Sudan is an Arab Muslim nation in the NORTH, and its ties are with the Arab Muslims in EGYPT.

**Notice that in DARFUR, western Sudan, the Charcoal Black MUSLIMS are being exterminated right with the chocolate Muslims who were paid to kill them.

The Arabs don't even care that these are their Muslim brothers and sisters. They are still "black".

Right, but there are many mixed people living in the south, and unmixed blacks living in the north as well.

But no matter how mixed you are---you are "ABEED" (niggerstock, slaves).

Though there is some truth to this, you can't deny that in general in the Arab world, those of mixed ancestry are considered to be superior to those of unmixed black ancestry. Someone with a mixed, but obviously negroid, phenotype like Anwar Sadat is not considered to be the same as an unmixed Dinka like Manute Bol.

And obivously, there is a sliding scale of "superiority": the closer to Arab (or caucasian) the mixed blood looks, the greater his or her acceptance.

I'm not denying what you're saying at all.

I'm saying that DINKA women would not purposely try to have a lighter baby.....because their communities would then SHUN them.

Anwar Sadat would not be celebrated in the SHILLUK or DINKA society. I already said that he woudl be, however, in the Arab Black society.

And he was NEVER accepted by White Arabs of Egypt. In everything he did, he denied and distanced his blackness. He was placed in power by White Arabs to capitalize off the BLACK AMERICAN civil rights movement. To stir up AA support for Middle Eastern concerns ie. the Palestinians.

He was never liked by Egyptians.

But as for DINKA and other Cushites.

It's not like America.

These extremely black people ALSO have enormous racial pride and are prejudiced against Arabs and lighter people.

Only once you remove them from their own society are they willing to trade their identity.

But in the DINKA and NUER society...you're not going to find them trying to have lighter babies to make life easier, because it wouldn't do that.

Even Manut Bol is not taking his "cornbread" colored DINKA wife to the nation of his people---the Dinka people---because she is still

a bastard.

Hell, even Black Americans treat Halle Berry like a bastard. Their real respect is for Angela Bassett.

Maybe, I should have been clearer. The social dynmamics that I was referring to (in which blacks feel pressure to have mixed offspring) are common in multiracial societies in which blacks find themselves, whether it be northern Sudan (and even some areas of the south) , Brazil, or to a lesser degree, the United States.

*********I'm sure he enjoys being "black", especially since, in my opinion based on my long-time observations, his speaking out against mixed marriages earns him the kind of reaction condescending light people secretly like to get from admiring dark people.*********

The funny thing about this is, I didn't realize that the man was light-skinned until you pointed it out. Had you not said anything, it prob'ly would have never dawned on me that he was light-skinned. Yet in an earlier post, you were quick to admit your belief that dark-skinned poeple would be "pleased to have {him} on their side," simply because he's light-skinned. Well.... I guess this proves that your "opinions" and "long-time observations" are totally worthless.

Good grief, tonya and renata. Have either of you ever heard of the expression "blacker than thou"??????? This is a term used to describe light-skinned people who bend over backwards to prove how "black" they are. I made the point that I have noticed among some of these people that they seemed to like the shocked or pleased reaction that they got from dark skinned blacks, when they, the light-skinned people, embraced their blackness with militant zeal. I further said that this was a covert form of condescendence. Get it?

KOLA:

Anonymous, I have agreed with you from the beginning.

You're totally right.

What I'm trying to PRESS into your mind...is that while Black Americans and Jamaicans and Brazilians would readily mix-breed within....not just in multi-racial, but within their own SEGREGATED full black communities....

because these groups of blacks have been ENSLAVED, "OWNED" by lighter skinned people and even when they're in all black settings, they DEFER to lightness.

...that is not the case in societies of DINKA, Shilluk, etc.

These people did not even know they were "ugly" until just a few years ago. We have a South Sudanese woman poster here named Nyibol--"African Queen"---who can tell you that in her DINKA village, they had no concept of whiteness as beauty. In fact, white people were a "Myth" to many Cushite blacks.

They even see "white flesh" as a sickness.

This is a HUGE distinction that's important.

Because it proves that it's ABNORMAL for blacks to not insist on their own blood.

The DINKA and Shilluk and others are now being PROGRAMMED by both the West and the Arabs that there's something wrong with them.

So as you see---I AGREE WITH YOU 100%

You're right. Once you place these people in multracial "racist" societies, they begin to SURRENDER, to kneel at the foot of the RULING MASTER.

They are socialized that there's something wrong with them. MANY DO REBEL.

afroamerican u stated that u don't believe west indians value africa any more than any other person..... well i personally don't expect any person who have been brain washed by white supremacist idea and logic into believing that any thing black or africa is degrading, ugly, lazy, poor, uncivilized and naive to value africa!!!!.... your statement is absolutly false!!!! speak for yourself.....>>( u don't value africa)and i will definitly tell u about some black people who hate africa>>>>>>>>>>> those free black american slaves that colonized liberia like kola state earlier were among those who hated africa.....they bitch about racism and evil the white man did to them in america but do u know what they did in liberia? enslaved those indigenious africans they met in liberia for so many years.....(1847 to 1980) although they were blacks in africa and ruling class of liberia they never consider liberia their homeland.... they denial those indigenious liberians education, good jobs, health care etc.... they carry that self hating attitude to africa and damage liberia...... they never develop liberia and took away all the resources of liberia and brought it to america(where the master lives) they brought nothing but destruction and devision among african people...... so u see those mentally whip people thought like u are thinking today and felt anything black is of lesser value.....but true black and proud children of africa loves and value africa......no matter what the condition right now........

Cynnique, I agree with your last post. While in college in L.A., the most militant Black students were the light skinned blacks. They would take the most hard line positions. The hard core black nationalists were also the light skinned blacks and those who were at the extreme left were the same.

Cynnique and Anunaki, perhaps that's in part a defense against those who try to insist that we call ourselves half-white. In the south, white people will argue with you and TELL you that your mother must be white, and refuse to believe otherwise.

Renata, you continue to give reassons for why light-skinned people do certain things. But that's not the point. I repeat: Some light-skinned people revel in the role of being racially militant and some dark-skinned people admire these people, and whether they realize it or not these light-skinned people relish this admiration. BTW, You seem to be in denial about the fact that if, as you say, you are as light as Lisa Bonet, then there is a history of bi-raciality in your blood line. You are a "voluntary" black person because you choose to call yourself black. Nothing wrong with that but you should face up to the reality of your biological identity.

So you mean to tell me that they sometimes be using our asses for their own freaky & selfish purposes? Think what you want, but most people simply just raise their children as BROTHERS AND SISTERS, and not to think of themselves in terms of skin color. As for my ancestry, back to my GREAT GREAT grandparents, they were ALL black, so I'm not going to claim white blood and try to differentiate myself from the black parents who gave birth to me and raised me. What I am today, and the choices I make are due to the efforts of my BLACK parents, and I'm not going to now turn my backs on them and make a big deal of giving the white man the credit for it.

It's parents who make their children "proud" of being part white who are to blame for this division because they teach their children not of their black heritage that they KNOW, but that they should tell the world they're part white or Native American, most of which is conjecture and assumption based on nothing more than their living in a society that finds that more beneficial than being African.

And most of those yellow people who claim to be HALF white (and are proud to point it out) actually have TWO black parents that they KNOW, but don't wish to credit their black lineage with anything good, but credit it instead to white ancestors that they're RUMORED to have.

If my family raised us to think of ourselves as bi-racial and told us that we're different from our OTHER RELATIVES, they would have done us a huge disservice. My sister wasn't raised like that, but bought into it, and now actually thinks she's closer to her white boyfriend's family than to her own family. But that's only because they tell her how white she is.

You people are such morons. You have absolutely no logic.

The reason why light-skinned blacks are more militant is because dark-skinned blacks keep making them prove their blackness... and so they prove it by being more militant.

Zero logic in you people. Sad.

In a black world, it is ok for men to marry white women, but not ok for women to marry white men. Men can do whatever the hell they want, marry 5 wives if they want to, but women are beaten up and asked to be women instead of helping the men raise the black media, the black society. Instead, men would be more pleased marrying lighter skinned women. When the black man's son has a white gf, he is more proud than ever. So no wonder black people, especially black women will always suffer. A South Sudanese imigrant will allow his son to marry anyone he pleases, and rejoices no matter what raise they are dating, but a when the girl does the same, she is beaten and asked to shut the hell up. Isn't this just sad?

In order for the black man's world to function as equal to that of white, he must accept his black woman, giving her the same rights, like rights to choose her black man. The black woman must be given the right to think for herself, she is not stupid.

Also, you guys have pointed out that the light skinned blacks who call themselves BLACK seem militant.

But keep in mind that there are a lot of light skinned blacks who you may not consider black and you'll never see them in a black neighborhood or at a black business, because they call themselves bi-racial.

There are probably (in my opinion) more of those who PRETEND to be bi-racial, than there are those who are militant. So, there are non-militant light skinned people....but you wouldn't find them here.

Perhaps, but no where that I know of, and I don't feel it necessary to make sure everyone knows how mixed I am.

I have very nappy hair, fat lips, and look undeniably black, so it's just interesting to me that people (not necessarily here) want to know how WHITE my family is.

I'm always asked where I got my light skin, but NEVER complimented on my lips (which are gorgeous by the way) or my hair.

I'm not anti bi-racial people, it just saddens me that people are willing to lie and say they are HALF white, and know both of their parents are BROWN SKINNED blacks, because they feel ashamed to have TWO black parents.

I'm sorry, my post was to answer Cynnique. But Africanqueen, I don't know about your post. As far as I know, boys are just as likely to be born light skinned as girls.

However, in my family, there are certain traits that are from "male" genes and certain traits that are "female" genes. For instances, ONLY boys have gray eyes or light hair. And girls only have black hair.

Also, traits seem to come bundled (in my family at least): Dark skinned people are ALL tall with fine hair, light skinned people are ALL short with nappy hair.

That's odd to me.

I so wish I was tall.

******Or maybe girls are more likely born lighter than the boys..*******

As far as I know, most African-Americans, males and females alike, are around the same shade of brown - chocolate, fudge, dark, or somewhere in that area. (This, "we're all mixed" phenomenon is new. Yeah, we all have a few drops of white blood, but historically that has never fit African-Americans' definition of mixed heritage. Only now that some AAs want to claim whatever it is they're trying to claim, the definition has changed for some.) Anyway, your statement doesn't ring true. Among the majority of us, the shades don't vary that much; and they definately do not differ between genders, not at all.

I have to agree with you on that one. My father was the palest black man in history but loved black women so much that he chose my mother who is a deep dark chocalate woman. I guess he was like Malcolm X's mother who said that he wanted his children to have "some color". It does not matter the color of the child but how you raise the child. To be proud of his/her African heritage. I myself an not one of those colostruck Negroes that are proud to "claim" Halle Berry, Vanessa Williams, Alicia Keyes etc.
