In our family album there is a picture of my grandmother that was passed down to us from our grandfather. If ever there was a squaw, she was it. High cheek bones, long braids. She was half Black Foot Indian. Her brother once had a confrontation with a member of the Jesse James gang and the story goes that he beat the shit out of him.
