I am trying to catch up on my Hip Hop. I shunned the art form for years (I explained that on another thread) and now am trying to catch up with stuff I didn't listen to when it first came out.

Everybody was talking about how good the album The Chronic was. How Dr. Dre was a genius the Phil Spector of Hip Hop, etc etc.I had heard "Nuthin But A G Thang" about the time it came out--usually booming out of somebody's box when they were passing.

I just got it and listened to it all the way through. I found it fair to middlin' not as good as other gangsta rap classics as "We Can't Be Stopped" or "Strictly For My Niggaz".

Am I missing something? Am I listening to it wrong? Is "The Chronic" really all that, and why?
