These republican/conservative types (Black & White) are very clever, charming, organized, well-supported and highly-financed. Connerly has been successful in part because he is adept at getting his oppostion so worked up and angry that many go along with him because he appear to present the more reasoned and reasonable choice of Black thought on race-related issues.
So when confronting them, it is very important that we avoid the name-calling and STAY-ON-POINT. Our publicly and angrily blaring out that Connelly is a fraud, liar and naive - as we seem to frequently do - only help him, not us, because that causes the dialog to digress into fruitless and embarrassing hostility & histrionics, which not only consume our precious time/energy but also further empowers him among his ardent backers and even among many of those who may be straddling the fence on the issue.
