Cynique, That's a WINNING essay on what is going on! Remember: This whole thing started off the strength of 19 guys using box cutters and mace to commadeer airplanes. Yet were spending 100's of BILLIONS to kill people who had NOTHING to do with that. I mean, come on, this whole d*mn thing just don't make any sense! I agree this all about scaring us into giving Bush and his backers (& bosses) TRILLION dollar oil/weapons/construction/utility deals. Bleekindigo, Perhaps Kerry blanches at the notion of war because he knows what it is like to see his friend standing next to him get his head blow apart via an AK-47 shell. But while Kerry was witnessing the utter horror of that, Bush's p*$$%@$$ was skipping National Guard duting in Alabama. Ultimately, Bush and those who support his kill'em all countenance will be rudely proven wrong. Because you can only kill so many people before you become more noted for being a killer than the alleged reason why you are doing the killing. And the world's going to eventually demand that we stop! Also. How long can we as Americans allow this thing to continue? We already have our entire active/reserve military/guard services involved in this thing. They are calling people up who's active service concluded +6 years ago. The are extending, doubling even tripling tours in Iraq. Are we going to let them draft our sons...our DAUGHTERS? Is that going to have to occur before wake the f#$% up? And we ain't even talking about Iran, which Iraq to the fifth power and likely has nuclear bombs and North Korea who's gotten so bold with their nukes that they have been basically been tossin' darts at our nutsack since Bush made the ridiculous Axis of Evil crack which was stupid largely because it was a blatant/obvious misnomer (Iraq, Iran and Korea are in NO way strategically allied against America). Baby girl, Kerry SHOULD be scared as F@#$ about what to do. And I am beginning to wonder whether our inability to appreciate Kerry's response to issues concerning war is more an indictment of us than it is of him. |
