Hi, Tee...I see you've already met some of the more grizzled veterans of the board. Allow me to introduce you to one more--me. I've been a regular on the board now for about four years. My contributions usually focus on science and technical fiction, and as the old heads will verify, I'm constantly on the watch for good science and technical fiction written by African-American authors. It's not unusual to see me discussing the genre, especially with Chris Hayden, who, though he disagrees with my point of view, never fails to give me wonderful nuggets of knowledge to chew on. My favorite authors include Tom Clancy and Lois McMaster Bujold, though I also like Ben Bova, John Grisham and Margaret Truman. About the only author I won't read is William Faulkner, a man who couldn't write his way out of a wet paper bag with the directions. When I'm not reading--something that I've slowed down on a bit since getting married three years ago--I enjoy playing video games (Sega rules!) and coming to Thumper's Corner. I also enjoy writing, but recently abandoned a decade-long attempt to write a disaster novel. Nowadays, I typically write quizzes on Fun Trivia.com, a great website that includes quizzes on just about every subject imaginable. That's about all for me. Look forward to seeing more from you on the board! |
