I hope I can be of assisstance. I would start with Their Eyes Were Watching God by Zora Neale Hurston, Manchild In The Promised Land by Clarence Brown, The Street by Ann Petry, Black Boy by Richard Wright, Somebody Else's Child by Terris McMannis Grimes.
