Folks keep trying to white-out nigga,
Linking it to fingers on a trigga,
Saying that a word like this
is Rapped up in a gangsta's fist.
They trace "nigga" back to slavery days,
And associate it with ghetto ways,
Overlooking how trouble that looms bigger
Comes from racists who still use n i g g er.
Nigga's a bad name that can also be good
On the tongue of your homie from back in the hood.
But kill "nigga" off if, indeed, we must.
Ashes to ashes, dust to dust.
"Gone but not forgotten" is nigga's epitaph,
A eulogy delivered with a wink and a laugh.
