I haven't been here in so long and I'm glad to come back to your good news, Kola.

I'm happy to hear of your success.

I suppose the good, the bad and the obstacles are all part of success and living...
par for the course.

I remember during graduate study, one of my professors talking about the Black men who gave Alice Walker hell about The Color Purple and tried to bully her into nixing her movie deal. He said she was STILL getting death threats about that book at the time.

I've been drafting a book of memoirs. That's why as much as I love this site, once I found it, I had to log off for a while and get some work done.

I'm going to send some chapters to agents soon. I have no experience and, I've been advised that as a first time writer and non-celebrity, it will be extremely difficult, if not impossible, to get a publishing deal, but I'm determined.

Anyway, I'll definitely come see you when you come to NY.

BTW, do you ever wear your hair back? I was just wondering as I was looking at your pic if you ever wear it back off of your face or up.
