Eyona and friends, Ellen Johnson Sirleaf doesn't have a drop of American blood -- as most Liberians who are LIVING IN LIBERIA already know. If you read any interview with her where she talks about her lineage it will show that information is correct. Many articles that say otherwise are wrong -- people think because of her education she is Americo but she is ABSOLUTELY NOT. Her father was a full-blooded Gola man from western Liberia, and her mother was half Kru and half German. Her German grandfather left Liberia during World War One when Liberia expelled all Germans from the country, and Mrs. Sirleaf did not know him at all. Her Gola father was one of the most educated men in Liberia and her Kru mother was also well educated. That is why Mrs. Sirleaf has good education and good values.

For your information, I am from the Mano tribe in Liberia, and Samuel Doe who ruled Liberia from 1980 and was indigeneous from the Krahn tribe, killed thousands of Manos and Gios when he was president. He started ethnic cleansing in Liberia and BEGAN the WORST period of Liberia's history. In February 1990 Doe ordered whole families killed in my family town of Ganta - children were even buried alive. Evil in Liberia doesn't have anything to do with a indigenous man being better than an americo man. Doe was evil and he was indigeneous.

Charles Taylor, who started the war to overthrow Doe's brutal and despotic leadership and ruled from 1997 to 2003 and is part indigeneous and part Americo. Taylor continued the murder and destruction that Doe had started, on a worse scale than before.

People have to stop telling lies about Liberia's history. President Tolbert was trying to improve Liberia before he was killed by Doe -- if you read any of his speeches you will see what kind of President he was. He was trying to improve things for ALL Liberians, and started a project to move poor Liberians from "mats to mattresses". Under Tolbert there were schools and clinics and many roads that were built. He was under criticism from many in his own political party because they thought he was too open - and he fought many members of his party who were conservative. He did not always succeed, and was often accused of nepotism, but under Samuel Doe and Charles Taylor the Liberian man lived in far worse condition than before, with far less pay.

Doe and Taylor did NOTHING for the ordinary Liberian man and woman - only for themselves. Eyona that is the truth - Samuel Doe did WORSE, not better than any president before him. No one can say that the murderers Samuel Doe and Charles Taylor gave more to the Liberian people than Tolbert. Name me one school, one clinic, one road that any of them built in any area that was not their tribal or family area. Tolbert built ALL OVER LIBERIA with less money than Doe had. In five years Doe received $500 million from the USA - more than all of the Liberian presidents throughout Liberia's history put together -- he had more and he did so much less. It is documented by even the Reagan library - and it was President Reagan that gave Doe all that money. What did Doe do for our people and where did that money given by the US to him go???

Anyway I thank God with Mrs. Sirleaf we have a Liberian president who is indigenous and well-educated and loves Liberia - love is something that Doe and Taylor did not have for Liberia. She is our sister and let us pray that she honors the spirits of our ancestors who I know want Liberia to finally know peace. Let us STOP THE LIES and pray for our country to know better days.
